Neat, Tidy, Polite And Friendly.
I had a window frame and a window pane replaced. The whole operation took less than 2 hours. The two young men doing the work were polite and friendly without being over the top. They did a great job and cleared up really well before they left. Always apprehensive about indoor jobs I was really pleased with the whole experience.

Great Job
Lovely new windows and door that look great.
Everything was completed in a timely manner, from sales through survey to fitting.
All the staff I met were polite & courteous, a credit to the company.
In particular great credit goes to the fitter who showed consideration for my home and a desire to leave the job finished to perfection.
So happy I am considering having other windows done at the rear of my property.

Opus Really Let Us Down!
We had all of our windows and doors installed by Opus and the experience was very poor.
They were due to star on a Monday; they phoned the week before to tell us they would start a day late – no real problem as they said that they should still finish by Friday. The fitters would arrive at around 08.30am, but would leave by 3pm. We figured they were making good progress, because they were finishing so early. On the Friday they told us that they would need Saturday as well. This was quite frustrating as they could have just put in a proper days work and finished by Friday as they had planned. We had to cancel our plans over the weekend to allow the fitter access.
When we went around and looked at the work we were horrified. The hinges on the new composite door were mangled; several of the frames had deep gouges in them; the beading which secured the glass had a wonky profile on every unit; the trim around the kitchen window literally pulled away from the wall when we inspected it; there were big globs of silicone which had spilled out from around the beading; the guttering on the roof of our bay window was full of dashing (cement with small stones), which I had to clean out; there were slumps of dashing at the bottom of several of the windows; and then there were the windows themselves! 12 out of the 36 units of glass were severely scratched. It looked as if they had used second hand glass. Despite all these problems, the fitters asked for full payment and gave us the receipt. Thankfully we refused to pay until the many problems were rectified.
Little did we know this was only the beginning of our problems with Opus! I phoned the office and arranged to have an engineer come to assess and rectify they many problems. The engineer got to work – and to his credit he did a really good job but he clearly had a lot more to do than one visit would allow. Of the 12 glass units that were replaced, several were still scratched. The installer said that he is not given enough time to check the glass before he arrives. A large glass unit in a French door needed replacing a total of 4 times until we got an acceptable unit. The engineer said that the problems with the beading were a manufacturing issue, so he arranged for GJB (the manufacturers) to come and assess the windows. They agreed that they were unacceptable, so arranged to visit again to replace the affected beading. Unfortunately, several of the pieces were cut too short leaving a gap in the corners. My partner and I were pretty fed up by now so I phoned Opus to speak to the manager, who agreed to visit the property along with an engineer. I showed them where there were still problems with the installation. It was arranged for the engineer to come back yet again to rectify the problems.
In total the installation took over 15 weeks and 14 visits. When you are given a date for a service engineer visit, they will not commit to a time. These visits were anywhere between 8am and 5pm meaning that somebody had to stay home all day! We also needed to pay for parking for each of these visits (with parking vouchers). This installation was extremely disruptive to our lives. Opus market themselves as a local, family business with traditional values. In reality they are no better than any other double glazing company, in fact the fit and finish was much worse than any other installation I have ever seen.
When the installation was finally finished to an “acceptable standard” we emailed the manager to ask if we could be offered a discount for the massive inconvenience this installation had caused us? He replied ”I’m sorry that no form of compensation can be offered and apologise again, I hope that in time you can forget the issues and appreciate the quality of the finished product.” They will be waiting a long time for us to forget such an ordeal, and the quality of the finished product is really not that great!
We wish we had not used Opus and strongly recommend that you go elsewhere!

Beautiful Windows
Very happy with the windows which were fitted. Workmen were very curtious, approachable and very clean and tidy. It would have been helpful if I was called a day or 2 before the installation date to confirm the appointment was still ok and what time the workmen would be arriving on the day. But overall we're very happy with the service and the quality of the windows.

Excellent Job
From start to finish very professional, i.e. salesperson, surveyor and fitters. We had a replacement conservatory roof and although the conservatory wasn't true the fitters did an excellent job. Family very impressed with the look and finish.

Good Quality, Good Price
Used Opus for a large building project for windows, glass roof and bi-fold doors.
Firstly the quality of the products are of a very high standard and we regularly get comments regarding the look and the finish. The surveyor was very knowledgable and able to suggest what would and wouldn't be possible on our build. We were happy with the price - you get what you pay for.
Overall wouldn't hesitate to recommend Opus.

Great Experience
We used Opus to double glaze the whole of our house. We had 3 quotes and Opus was in the middle and a relative had also recommended them.
The rep was helpful and showed us samples of all our options with the price for each. No high prices being reduced as the visit went on.
The surveyor was very knowledgeable and offered advice over a small problem – very helpful.
Fitting was about 4 weeks after the order. Two nice guys who knew exactly what they were doing and they ensured no mess.
We did have a mark on one of the handles and the opus service engineer came out 4 days later and replaced.
We cannot speak highly enough about our experience.
Thanks for the review. If your friend hasn't yet contacted Opus to receive their £100 recommend a friend reward then please get them to contact us and we'll put a £100 cheque in the post to them just for recommending Opus Windows to you. Also you'll get £100 for each friend/family that you recommend to Opus who places an order with us.

New Flat Roof
WE have a log cabin extension on the back of our house, the roof developed a leak, it was constructed some 12 years ago and fitted with a felt roof, evidently the life of this type of roof is 10 to 15 years, Opus fitted a SARNAFIL roof which is guaranteed for 40 years, the work took one and a half days, there was no hassle, the fitters were friendly and efficient, I am very pleased with the result, I would recommend OPUS for the work they have done on my property.
