i am really confused about how to claim from this - do i reply to Sale Smith with a claim or do I go to my credit card company? please can anyone help? i can't believe they have been lying since January... disgusting and i will definitely log this as fraud, good job I have a nice long email chain with all of her claims to supplement the phone calls I received...

I have just got my money back from my bank via Chargeback. Well worth the effort as I had paid using a debit card - £1600!!!

Ordered A Firepalce In March. Was Promised Deliver

Ordered a firepalce in March. Was promised delivery within 2 weeks. Fire never arrived and had to contact them several times and always got a nice email back. Paid £795 by Visa Debit. Thanks to the reviews here I relised what was happening and contacted Sale Smith who sent out papers comfirming the bankrupcy. I in turn contacted my bank and requested my money back by Chargeback. The money is now in my account and have not lost anything other than needless worry. Who's having the last laugh now, ?? May you never work again....

Just for information. At the time the money was reclaimed Hot Fires bank accounts were still active. This enabled my bank to reclaim the money back from their bank therfore my bank is not at a loss.

Your bank isn't laughing. They have no way of getting the money back off them.

Let it be an example to all who want to buy fires over the internet, if it is cheap, then quality/service suffer.

We Too Have Been Ripped Off After Our Heating Brok

we too have been ripped off after our heating broke down in feb we had to make a loan to buy a fire and pay the engineer to fit it, we are now out of pocket with nothing to show for it. we also payed with debit card, went to the bank to ask for a chargeback,after a couple of phone calls the bank said that they might be able to help us and are sending us some forms to fill in,fingers crossed will will have some heating in for the winter.hope they get sent down for what they have done to good honest people.If we had seen these reveiws before we would have avoided like the plague.

Ordered A Stove Over The Phone On March 4th From H

Ordered a stove over the phone on March 4th from Hotfires using a debit card and money was debited from our account the next day. Neither a written receipt nor the goods materialised, despite repeated email assurances from Rose up until May 3rd. Businesses unfortunately fail but I believe money may have been taken with no intention of ever supplying the goods. Surely the term for this is 'fraud'? I called the Halifax about chargebank and was told I'd have to complete a form with the administrators first. Can anyone help with advice re this? PS: Why is there not an zero stars option on this site!

I ordered a Hunter stove in March. Hot Fires of course immediately took my money (credit card, fortunately). Fobbed off ]for 6 weeks - delivery problems at Hunter. Read the reviews here last Thursday. Visited Hunter manufacturers on Friday. They said my stove was always in stock. Enough said.

Yes, me too, order placed 12/03/11. Lots of promises which were all lies, luckily I used a credit card to pay so hopefully I will eventually get the money back. They have probably started work on setting up the next scam company to do the same again. Hope evryone is lucky enough to get their money back. Icouldn't save my review without awarding a star rating, shame their wasn't any minus stars, my one star rating is fiction.

I found this review very helpful because...i have also been ripped of by hotfires.com but unfortunately i paid by a debt card and my bank dont know weather i'll get my money back am blazeing it took me a long time to save up for the fire of my dreams i orderd it on the 21st may and got promised it would be deliverd in 3 to 4 working days after the first week of it not turning up i was on the phone and got told it is a dilivery problem so i rang every week to see when it would be deliverd until a few days ago when i got a letter telling me they had gone bump i just dont now what to do i feel like going finding them if anyone can advice me what to do my phone number is 07564955796 please get in touch

We also ordered an electric suite with these people.Paid for it on 27th March they stole our money on 28th.Always polite when we spoke to them on the phone,knowing that we were not going to receive our goods.How do these people sleep at night?Really wished we had never heard of Hotfires.Also how can their website state it is being updated and if you want to place an order please ring.Nationwide have not been very helpful either will try what has been suggested on this review page.Good luck to everyone who has been conned by Hotfires.

I To Have Been Ripped Off By This 'company'. I Pai

I to have been ripped off by this 'company'. I paid £1600+ for a stove back in February. Feel like an utter fool. I paid by visa debit card and contacted my bank after reading comments here. They are sending out a form (chargeback), which I will complete and send back along with a copy of my receipt. The guy on the phone said I could possibly have my money back within the month!! Result. watch this space!
