Shamrock multipurpose coir compost

Shamrock multipurpose coir compost is awful stuff and if I could find their website I'd let them know. .

Shamrock multipurpose coir compost was new to me, but I thought I'd give it a try. Now I'll use it every time, especially in hanging baskets. I used the E-Compost brand, it had coco chips in it too, which seemed to hold the water better. I poured it in the top, but not a lot came out the bottom!

Unable to bye the seed compost that I have used for many years, I bought Shamrock Multi-purpose Peat Alternative Compost.

I used this to sow all my annual seeds.

What a disaster! Seeds germinated ok but all varities failed to flourish. The few which did grow large enough to prick out were pale yellow in colour and showed little sign of rooting into the compost.

In desperation I made a second sowing using sifted B&Q Growbag Compost, what a difference, healthy vigourous seedlings!
