Absolutely appalling - unbelievably so!

I am simply going to copy and paste the email chain.... enough said! Read from the bottom up! I also called them about it twice. They have absolutely no idea what is going on. My 'consultation' was 20 mins late, only last 15 mins, and cost 250 pounds. Afterwards they can't even give me a price for the procedure!

Thanks for your email - I see you are trying to help but I still do not have the answers I need.

Before having the procedure I would simply like to know exactly how much it will cost. Surely this is reasonable? Please can Dr X let me know - I have had the consultation so I assume he will know this?

Also - and again - is he planning on removing the skin tags on Wednesday too, or not? and what would this cost - is it 550 for the whole lot?

For the time being I think that the only option is to cancel my appointment. I am not happy to come to an appointment not knowing exactly how much it will cost me, or what is going to be removed and what isn’t!

I appreciate you are trying to help but I am extremely concerned that I have spent 250 pounds on a consultation that started 20 minutes late, was only 15 minutes long, and which does not even involve a fixed price - even after I have asked six times! It is extraordinary how the business is run. Do you usually not tell people how much they will be charged?

I understand from the conversation I had on the phone yesterday that somebody will be calling me to discuss the service I have received. If I do not go ahead with the removal I will be expecting a full refund of the consultation cost.

I’m so sorry this was not explained to you during your consultation – Dr X is a fantastic and very thorough Dermatologist – he is one of our most experienced practitioners and I would have hoped you have left his consultation with all the information you needed - perhaps I can assist here.

The cost of a surgical mole/lesion removal is typically £550 but it does usually depend on the lesion as to the method required

A consultation fee is always separate but the procedural fee does include a follow up wound check appointment with a dedicated wound care nurse –

It was not covered in the consultation - and I told reception this and they sent the Doctor an email about it while I was there - but there has been no response.

Can somebody tell me the price of the removal - and whether the plan is to remove skin tags as well or just the mole? Or is the price included in the consultation?

Usually we book a wound check following the procedure between 1 week-10days with a specialist nurse to make sure healing is going in the right way

The procedure should only take about 20-30minutes

This is a very routine treatment here at the clinic and Dr X is one of the most experienced Consultant Dermatologists – you can be rest assured you are in very capable hands

It would be good to know how long it takes and aftercare and what it will look like?
