Hello - I am highly allergic to phenylenediamines but as this dye box said it is PPD free, I tried a test and came up with very swollen face. You should not sell products with false advertising. I tried more than once to get my refund back but I never got a response. I would like you to refund me or else I will have to contact Consumer Rights.

After much searching I thought I had finally found a PPD free hair colour, sadly not! I did a patch test twice and thought I would genuinely be ok with this hair dye as nothing happened, I even tested behind my ear as that is the most sensitive part. I coloured my hair at 4pm this afternoon and now I have very red, itchy and sore hives on the back of my neck. This really is false advertising stating PPD free on the front of the packaging, I now have to go to the chemist and purchase a steroid cream to take down the hives. I purchased 2 boxes of this product and now one of them is useless! Not very happy!!

So glad I found this product & no allergic reaction whatsoever. Even with a sensitive hair dye my hairdresser used to use it used to itch a little ........ but I have no problems with this. It covers my grey hair very well & lasts too. I'm delighted with it & have recently ordered another 4 boxes.

Natur Vital has put false information that their hair colours are chemical free but it’s not true. I brought their hair colour but I has a very bad reaction on my skin. Before I use it I ask them about the chemical. They told me their is no chemical, it’s just only state on the pack. I would request all who wants to buy a chemical free hair colour, never buy natur vital.

I purchased this product because I have bad allergic reactions to hair dye. It is not chemical free, regardless of what they say on their page. I've just come across this fine print on their website: "Confusion occasionally arises as natural hair dye formulas often contain a number of similarly named compounds. Both PPD and Toluene-2,5 Diamine Sulfate belong to the same family of ingredients: phenylenediamines. Since these related ingredients belong to the same chemical family, it is mandated by the European Cosmetics Directive to list the official warning text “contains phenylenediamines” on retail packaging. Natural Vital colour products that do not contain PPD may still list phenylenediamines in their ingredients; however, they will NOT CONTAIN PPD (‘p-phenylenediamine.’ )" So basically they say the die is PPD free, but they still include certain chemicals from the phenylenediamines family, which is what most of us are allergic to. I must say, I do feel a bit badly treated by this company but what can you do. If you have any kind of allergic reaction, DO NOT BUY this product.

Thank you so much for this informative, helpful review! I double-checked the ingredient list and see those chemicals in the same harmful family as PPD. I can understand why you feel deceived and I will NOT be purchasing NaturVital as I had planned. On behalf of myself and many others who've certainly read your review, we appreciate you putting us wise to these deceptive ingredients!

I developed a severe allergy to dying my hand after 20 years of coloring. I dye my hair black, I am naturally blonde. Not willing to strip my hair I have tried many products...I’m thinking I’m allergic to ppd, but I’ve used products that claim to be ppd free and still got itching and blisters all over my scalp with swollen eyes..so I figured it had to be more than just the ppd I’m allergic to. Everyone who has left bad reviews needs to realize that you can be allergic to more than one thing. This dye has been a lifesaver for me! Granted, after coloring and rinsing, I do put hydrogen peroxide on my scalp just to get as much of the excess dye off my scalp to reduce any reaction..then a wash and rinse again..so far after 3 times coloring with this dye, I haven’t even had an itch! I’m soo happy!!!! Thank you for this product!!!

I used this product last night after buying it because of my reaction to dark hair dyes.when I woke up this morning my scalp was really itchy and swollen I would not recommend this product to anyone who has had a previous reaction to hair colour and yes I did do a patch test 24 hours previous to doing the colour which was fine of to the gp tomorrow

the hair colour box put PPD FREE,but inside the box, pack contents, caution, last sentence: It contains, phenylenediamines, (except colour 8.3). I have been using this products for many years because it is PPD FREE but I notice it is not, please kindly explain, ???

I bought this product yesterday after viewing that it is free of PPD, Amonia and etc. After I dye my hair last night, the following morning, my eyes were swollen. I guess this company should review again the ingredients they used in this product

My husband bought this product for me after seeing that I was having more obvious grey hair at the fringe area. I was apprehensive about hair dyes after those at the salon giving me scalp-stinging experiences (albeit nice colours). A recent purchase of an expensive all-natural herbal hair dye left my grey hair still completely grey. After googling for reviews on Natur Vital Colour Safe, I was even more apprehensive. My husband assured me his mom has been using it for years without complaints. I was prepared to wash it off immediately if my scalp starts to sting. (I was meeting my friends that evening so, even though I know I should not, I skipped the patch test). Thank goodness everything turned out very smoothly! A very good experience, especially with the aloe Vera shampoo and hair mask provided!

I purchased it without reading reviews ! Got so excited as it stated PPD free. Did the patch test and I had a reaction. Now, obviosuly I won't risk trying it on my head. Very disappointed.

Hi what sort of reaction did you have with product ? and i can look in to this for you ?

As stated on the website and the packaging a 48 hour patch test is essential prior to application, this will indicate if you are allergic to any ingredient in the Coloursafe formula ,the Coloursafe hair dye is aimed at the consumer who wants to AVOID ammonia ,resorcinols ,parabens and PPD . A person with a prior PPD allergy may react to a wide range of ingredients from shampoo to leather spray and we would recommend our semi permanent colour to any person who has a PPD allergy. Coloursafe is the most gentle permanent hair colour available as the most aggressive ingredients have been replaced or removed .

Does the semi permanent colour work and cover on white/grey hair including the beard???

Natur Vital coloursafe was recommended to me by a hairdresser who uses this on a customers hair who swears by this I performed a patch test which was ok so I decided to put the dye on my hair on a Friday following the instructions to the letter! It was until the 5th day that I had a severe reaction to the dye, my left eye was so swollen it was closed when I woke up in the morning. I contacted the surgery to get an appointment to see the GP. The GP was quite horrified when she saw my eye. I was put on Prednisolone 30mgs for 6 days and Betnovate Steroid cream for 3 days. It has been a devestating experience for me!!!!!!

I was looking for hair dye without PPD because I am severely Allergic to PPD and suffered several times ,I have been searching over the internet for dyes without PPD and I found Natur Vital company claims that it doesn't contains PPD whereas if you go through the ingredient of cream it has clearly written 2-Chloro-p-pheylendiamine sulfate it means PPD is included in it so how can they claim that this product is PPD free so if you are planning to buy PPD free product make sure to read every single detail

The colour did not turn out as advertised. (10.2) I ended up completely white. I emailed the company over 2 weeks ago to complain and have not had a reply.

My hair is unbelievably soft since using this black hair dye. Great colour and shine too. I feel normal not tired from PPD regular hair dye. So glad I searched for PPD on line and found such a great contact and product. Lovely genuine caring distributor too. Very affordable and fast shipping.

I had "itchy scalp" prior to using Natur Vital Coloursafe hair dye. I had been using other hair dyes for years. I have seen 3 dermatologists regarding this matter (all with varying opinions as to causation). Yes, I could just stop & go grey, but I choose to colour my hair. That being said, each of us has a responsibility to do some homework on this. I have here in front of me the tube of Natur Vital hair colour, the pamphlet included & the box. I do not find any conflicting info on the box as to what is included inside. On the pamphlet inside, it relays that it contains "oxidizing colourants" "diaminotoluenes" and "hydrogen peroxide". If you google this "diaminotoluenes" chemical (& I'm no chemist!) it does state that this chemical is a replacement for the chemical PPD. The Scottish Environment Protection Agency states: "Dermal contact with diaminotoluene can cause severe skin irritation, dermatitis and blistering of the skin. Contact with the eyes can lead to irritation, tearing, corneal opacities and in extreme cases can cause permanent blindness if left untreated. The International Agency for Research on Cancer has designated 2,5 diaminotoluene as being not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans. The International Agency for Research on Cancer has designated 2,4 diaminotoluene as a possible carcinogen. However, exposure to diaminotoluene at normal background levels is unlikely to have any adverse effect on human health." So, there you have it, ladies. All permanent hair colouring products will have something potentially scary in it. That is what harsh chemicals are. If you think that you will find a kindly, all-natural and chemical-free permanent hair colouring product, you should patent it pronto because you will become rich. It just isn't out there. We ask for colour to cover our grey hair & then are shocked to learn that it contains a chemical compound. How naive can we be?? Now, back to Natur Vital. I've used their permanent hair colour products for a couple of years. My scalp is still itchy, but it doesn't burn during the application process like it used to. The last dermatologist I went to (& I gave her the ingredients of the hair dye) didn't think my "dermatitis" was caused by the hair colouring product (but I can't imagine application of any chemical to my scalp is helpful). But, that is my choice, so I live with it. The hair colouring works well, but I have to leave it on a full 30 min. because my grey roots are stubborn. Also, the lighter blond colours just don't cover my grey well. So, I've chosen a darker colour that does cover & I hope as I age more, I may become "very brave" & just go grey. For now, I need to minimize my risks & live with the consequences, just like all of you "permanent hair colour users". To Natur Vital's credit, there are ample warnings & disclaimers printed inside the pamphlet stating that hair colourants in general can cause severe allergic reactions (including theirs). So, be informed & to your homework. I gave it four stars because their colours are pretty & the shampoo is great!

Please if you are allergic to ppd like my self please do not buy this. It has an ingredient in it called toluene 2,5 diamine this is a sister of ppd it is exactly the same. When I called to complain there customer service is none existent they were so rude. Do not risk your life using this product, this company is worse then the company's selling ppd hair dyes as they are misleading customers into using a product that could potentially kill them know full well ehat they are doing.

For years I have suffered from extremely bad reactions to hair dyes, many of which have resulted in having to receive medical treatment. However, I have continued to try out different brands convinced that there must be a product out there that would not cause such bad reactions. I have now found one that does not and I am delighted with the results. This is a fantastic product and I shall be using it for many years to come.

Can I ask what hair dye you use if you’ve been able to find one as I am also badly allergic to PPD, Ammonia - you name it and I’m really struggling to find one at the moment.
