“Looks the Part”

★★★★★

written by on 16/10/2013

Having only just retired, I now have a lot of time on my hands to trawl the review sites and leave comments on some of the more useful products in my life. I've already left numerous reviews on my car, TV and other home gadgets so here's my first one relating to my favourite pastime of Golf. I purchased the Pro Rider Trolley in the Summer of last year having spent a fair amount of time researching the market. It came with a lot of accessories and once assembled it certainly 'Looked the Part'. I've used it regularly (at least once a week) over the past year and together with a set of Hedgehog wheels (to get me through the winter months) it's more than handled the hills and dips of my local course. A couple of my playing partners are considering ditching their old 'push along' trolleys for an electric one, whether its a Pro Rider,Powakaddy or Motocaddy I'm sure they'll feel the benefits.

“five star quality from a five star company!”

★★★★★

written by jameswilky on 05/10/2013

I've had this trolley for just two weeks now but after a few rounds of golf I can already tell that it will be amazing, it has a nifty design, fits into pretty much any boot and can do twobhole rounds of golf before it needs to be charged again. I'll definitely be buying from this company again!

“what a golf trolley ”

★★★★★

written by marvingraham on 04/10/2013

It's been years now since I got my first pro rider golf trolley and that's a great trolley but the lithium battery edition really is something else it gets through two sometimes three rounds of golf from just one charge! The trolley itself is light and easy to fold and fits into my small boot too. Thanks prorider!

“great trolley”

★★★★★

written by adamhayc on 03/10/2013

Hello, I play golf quite regularly and on quite a hilly course and would just like to give the company pro rider some credit for their quality trolley. Even on all the hills it gets me through two rounds without a charge so I'm a very happy golfer :) I'd definitely reccomend a pro rider golf trolley to anybody. They're cheap too!

“very poor customer care”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Jurasic01 on 27/09/2013

In 2010 approximately, having trawled the internet looking for a decent electric golf trolley i eventually opted for a 36 hole Pro Rider model, initially very happy with the product, i started noticing after a while that nearly all the links creaked or squeaked, i was continually spraying WD40 on them just to keep them quiet. the design is also very upright, which on a flat course is not a problem but if like me you play on a hilly course don't be surprised to find yourself picking your trolley and bag up after it has toppled over. After 2 years i noticed that the charge wasn't lasting a round and on more than one occasion i had to push the thing up the 18th. My main gripe with Pro Rider is their customer care or lack of it.................. One of the wheel clutches started slipping which meant that i couldn't get drive on that wheel, effectively rendering my trolley useless. I contacted Pro Rider and they sent a new clutch, unfortunately between the time of my purchase (2010) and now (2013) they have changed the design of their clutch and with the new clutch fitted to my drive shaft the wheel won't lock on. When i advised them of my dilemma they said they no longer supply the 'old' style clutches and that there was nothing they could do to help me and that was it, £150 down the drain through no fault of my own, so to be honest i can't recommend this companies product in any way or form. This is a disability website suppling products to vulnerable people, i wonder how many of them have been left out of pocket due to design changes rendering their items useless after only 2 years.

Janeylew's Response to Jurasic01's Review

Written on: 23/10/2013

We have just experienced a similar incident. Purchased the Pro Rider Electric trolley in April 2012 and after a year the axel sheared off. They sent me a replacement which lasted another 6 months when the same thing happened again. The plastic lower frame connector has now broken off, rendering the trolley useless after 18 months. I contacted Pro Rider and they tell me they do not stock the the part and that they have not had any breakages before and consequently have no way of repairing it. Needless to say I am not happy and will NOT be recommending or buying another product from them.

I agree. I constantly have to hold the handle up as it tips backwards on my hilly course. It also wanders to one side. Not good

“PRO RIDER ELECTRIC REMOTE GOLF TROLLEY SPAIN”

★★★★☆

written by on 19/09/2013

Bought one of the Pro Rider remote trolleys 2 years and had it shipped out to Calpe in Spain where I work. I was hesitant at the start due to never having owned a powered trolley and certainly not a remote version. I asked the sales guys at Pro Rider and they gave me honest opinions about the pros and cons of a remote trolley. I was impressed they tried to sell me a cheaper standard trolley rather than the more expensive remote version after I told them my requirements. I opted for the remote trolley and have been very satisfied with it. I did have a mishap with the rain cover and the guys at Pro Rider replaced it for me and even posted it to me in Calpe free of charge. I am not one for reviews but when a company sends you something for free out of warranty I believe they deserve a mention. I had never heard of them before and to be honest not seen one of their trolleys on the course. I have seen a few now so they must be selling a few. I have find the build to be ok and the power very good plus the battery has not let me down yet (touch wood). Overall very satisfied and if you are looking for a decent trolley but don't want to pay the earth then I would recommend these guys. Hoping they read this as I may get some more freebies.

“my problems with pro rider golf cart”

★★☆☆☆

written by gulliver1 on 18/09/2013

i have had my pro rider golf cart for sixteen months,in that time i had the battery fail, the main shaft break.battery leads snap off.wheels keep falling off,the battery socket drop out off the main body of the trolley and now the clutch in the wheel has failed. i do not think that in the short time i have had this trolley that so many things should have gone wrong. up till now it has cost me around one hundred and twenty pounds to put right so i would not be recommending this product to anyone.

“PRO RIDER ELECTRIC GOLF TROLLEY EXCELLENT SERVICE”

★★★★★

written by on 16/09/2013

My brother in law and I purchased a couple of these trolleys 3 years ago and have received a good level of service from both trolleys. I took out an extended warranty which expired last month. I developed an issue with my umbrella holder which snapped during a game where I had not fitted the brolly correctly. I was honest with Pro Rider when I contacted them and expected to be charged for a new one. Next thing the desk person told me he would send one free of charge and it arrived today. I didn't catch his name but I wanted Pro Rider to know how pleased I am with this gent for looking after me. Nice to see a good level of service in this modern era.

“Buyer Beware!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Steven116 on 15/09/2013

I would recommend if you use this company you pay with a Credit card. The credit card company are empowered to reimburses your money if they believe pro-rider have acted unlawfully/unreasonably... If not you might find your-self calling Rip-Off-Britain to try to get a refund! I would not recommend this company if;- you rely on a electric golf cart as a aid to get around a golf course;- you are employed and can't afford to take 4 separate days of work waiting in for your defective trolley to be collected by pro-rider employee's;- or waste hours of time trying to contact the service department to find out why your trolley was not collected and what will happen next...?. On every occasion the trolley was not collected no-one had the common courtesy to call and apologise and explain what would happen next, I had to call them. I purchased a boxed trolley and on the first occasion I used it, it was clearly defective, the trolley had a slice! It pulled to the right. The problem could be easily seen the front wheel axle/spindle was not parallel to the rear axle. The fact the unit passed quality control is not good, however, this was not my main concern with this company. I tried calling the customer service department to get my trolley repaired and left my number as instructed, no one returned my call. I then phoned several times leaving the phone ringing for 15-30 mins, eventually I got through, this was a reoccurring problem through-out my dealings with Pro-Rider. I found dealing with this company extremely frustrating and debilitating. I was given a date when the trolley would be collected and the staff simply did not turn up! This happened on 3 Separate occasion. As I had no working trolley and had given the company 3 opportunities put the trolley right, I felt I was legally entitled to a refund and asked for a refund. This they declined on the basis on 1 of the 3 occasions it was not their employees that did not pick up the trolley but a courier (employed by them). So they would collect and repair the trolley. On the fourth occasion the trolley was collected, however, I got no phone call I was promised regarding the defects, the trolley was returned, still defective. What I found so disappointing was the misalignment is so bad it was be seen visually by lining up the two axle. It can also be seen by running the trolley along a white line were it bananas of to the right or by running across a golf car park were the right of the wheel gathers dust whereas the left remains clean not being in contact with the ground. Pro-Rider have refused to send a engineer to my house to be shown these symptoms. Their stance is a engineer has signed the trolley as OK so that’s that! The symptoms are so obvious it makes me wonder if the engineers report was for legal protection??

“PRO RIDER GOLF TROLLEY EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE”

★★★★★

written by on 05/09/2013

Had 2 of these trolleys for my wife and I for just under 3 years. We play a very hilly course near Rock in Cornwall. Last month my wife contacted the company to explain the trolley had an intermittant issue. They covered collection and return of the trolley at their cost. The fault was my wife with a loose connection on the battery terminal. I will check the terminals from now on. Even though it was our fault Pro Rider didn't charge us. First class service and we would recommend this company to all fellow golfers.

“What a trolley!”

★★★★★

written by johnojenkins on 11/06/2013

Hi everybody, I am just writing to say that this is a great trolley and better than others I have tried from bigger companies and it is just as good, if not better, as them even though it is a third of the price in some cases. It gets through two rounds easy in one charge and still has enough power to get back to the car and then from my street back into the house. It is also a smart looking contraption and isn't over the top like some others that i have seen. A great purchase!

“Pro Rider Electric Golf Trolley review on customer service”

★★★★☆

written by lizshalur on 08/05/2013

I purchased this trolley for my husband's 60th birthday 4 years ago. I was not sure about the purchase as I knew very little about golf trolleys and being a golf widow I knew my hubby would be a fusspot about his equipment. Some women lose their men to cars but I lose mine to golf. He had used a Powakaddy for the previous 4 years but had a few issues with it. I had not heard of this company or brand but having read they also make other items like mobility scooters and bikes I thought I would be in safe hands should there be a problem. Well, I have to say that having contacted them last week about an issue with his trolley 4 years after purchase I found out they now had a service department down the road to me in Northamptonshire. They invited me to bring the trolley along for a free inspection. I was called the next day and to my complete surprised I was informed there was an issue with the motor and they had repaired it in full. I asked how much I owed them and they said nothing as it was only a quick repair to the brushes or bushes (I don't understand these terms) I promised them I would leave a glowing feedback and especially to the man who looked after me so well and was very patient. It is refreshing in this day and age to receive such after sales service and this is the reason I am leaving my review. In my opinion they are a lovely firm to deal with and I would not hesitate to recommend them to all golfers. He plays at Overstone Country Park Golf Club.

“Good little runner for the price”

★★★★★

written by on 26/04/2013

i received my golf trolley as a Xmas present a few months ago. Being a fair weather golfer I've only just started to use it and amazingly enough my game seems to have improved a little. Whether it's the Trolley or just the fact I know longer have to carry my clubs around, I don't know. Either way I'd recommend one of these trolleys and at £180.00 you can't go wrong.

“Superb Value”

★★★★☆

written by CliffThomas on 08/10/2012

I have used my Pro Rider Trolley for nearly 6 months and would like to submit an unsolicited review for the benefit of other potential customers. Having been a life-long MotoCaddy user I approached replacing it with the much less expensive Pro Rider with some trepidation. The MotoCaddy is built to last, and extremely reliable but a new model offering all the specs of the Pro Rider would cost twice as much. But what quality would I get from the Pro Rider at £199? In short, it has been all I would have wanted and more. The folding/locking mechanism is not as intuitive as the MotoCaddy but it works well and has shown no sign of wear. The controls are user-friendly and the trolley is remarkably stable. The inclusive accessories are of high quality (with the exception of the rain cover, which is a little flimsy) and would add a significant amount to the purchase price of any of the more established trolleys. The huge plus for the Pro Rider is the no-quibble guarantee. I have has a few minor teething troubles and all have been attended to without question and almost instantly. This is customer service without parallel in my experience. In summary, this product offers excellent value and I would recommend it without hesitation. Cliff Thomas

The clutch has gone, you have a clutch built into the wheel, it's black. And held in with three screws and the shaft fits into it. You need to contact pro rider and they will supply a new one, at a cost, but there simple enough to fit and hopefully your trolley is a newer model and they still make the part unlike mine Hope this helps

Sounds like the clutch has given up, if your trolley is older than 2011 then theve stopped making your type of clutch, if it's younger than that then contact Prorider and buy a new one I think there around £25-£30
