“Don’t buy sofas from Next!”

I bought a corner sofa and snuggle seat from Next. On delivery, the delivery men put it together with a wonky foot and also left a fire safety label sticking out the front of the snuggle seat, trapped between the foot and the base. The large corner cushion on the corner sofa would not line up with the base of the sofa and the cushion cover on the snuggle was twisting round so that one side of the piping was round the side of the cushion and one side of it was starting to come up on the top of the cushion. I rang Next and they sent someone to inspect the sofas - that took a whole month - and they fixed the feet and the label and said they would order a new cushion cover for the snuggle. It’s 3 months later now and no cushion cover has appeared. I have also noticed that every single cushion cover is twisting now, after a couple of months of actually using the sofa, and I’m also starting to get a hole in one of the cushion seams. The corner cushion still doesn’t fit on the base properly and the back cushions are starting to really sag. In short, the sofa looks absolutely lovely unless you actually want to sit on it any time!

I emailed Next to complain about these issues, and they replied saying that if I rang their customer service number (at 5p per minute) they would talk through various options to sort my problems out. I emailed them back saying that I was not willing to pay 5p per minute for a potentially lengthy phone call, for a problem that wasn’t my fault in the first place. They completely ignored this email, and despite emailing Next several more times, they are still just ignoring me.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - DONT BUY A SOFA FROM NEXT (UNLESS YOU LIVE IN A SHOW HOME AND WILL NEVER ACTUALLY SIT ON IT)!!

I’m actually just googling to see if anyone else is having the same issues. Delivery, set up etc was all great for us & so at first sofas seemed great. We’ve had them about 2.5 months now & the back are starting to sag, he place where my husband sits (who is only 13st) now dips like it’s guven way a bit under his weight. I wouldn’t say they were particularly comfy either. Over all poor quaility! If they are like his in just over 2 months what on Earth they going to look like in 2 years?!
