“Not even if you paid me!”

Saw a deal online and thought I would check out what seemed like a good idea to get some variety on our dinner recipes. Ordered it, was looking forward to trying it. On the day the delivery (that could come anytime between 7am-7pm) 2h before the cutoff I receive a message saying there was an issue with my delivery in transit and I wouldn’t receive it or any replacement. Great. They refunded my hello fresh account but not directly the bank. I was a bit annoyed but decided to cut them so slack so placed an order for the following week. Kept receiving emails saying I received my delivery asking how was it and if I could rate it. Then noticed they charged me for my second delivery before I received it instead of using the funds I already had paid for my ghost first delivery. Tried to contact costumer services to cancel my upcoming delivery and the hello fresh account, they quite literally blew me off. When I explained my situation they said there was nothing they could do and tried to placate me with discounts. I told them the money was not the issue but the flakiness, lack of communication on their part and to be honest terrible customer service was and therefore, no, I wasn’t after discounts I just wanted to cancel my account and get a refund of all the money they had already taken from my account. I was told that was against company policy and was just not possible so could I please be understanding of their situation. I told them they should be the ones looking after the customers not the other way around. They said ok let me see what we can do and left me hanging for 40 min and in the end never got back to me. Don’t use this service if you don’t want to risk going through some really unprofessional organisation issues and appalling customer service.

“Poor Customer Service”

My order arrived with key ingredients missing from all 3 boxes, rendering them useless to me. I was offered a refund (eventually) of about 25% of what I'd spent, meaning I'd lost about £25. I could have thrown that money in the bin and got the same result without wasting further time. Don't touch!!

“They send out orders you didn't place and won't refund you”

They sent me an order I didn't place. This was completely random, as I hadn't used them in months. They took money from my bank account. When I called to complain, I was on hold for over half an hour to get to a call centre in Asia. They just kept repeating the same script over and over and over, not listening to what I was explaining. They refused to refund me, even though they were in the wrong. Be very careful when using this company as they just want your money and will take it whenever they feel like it and you won't get it back.

“Off chicken ”

I wished they had a minus star button or just a 0 one would be good enough. Was sent for the 4th time off chicken, I know it's vacuum sealed, but trust me it was off and some of the veg were wilted. £12.10 is not enough for ruining my families dinner once let alone 4 times.

I had just recieved a HF box with the 3 meals that I have not selected myself, it was automatically selected for you!! The 3 meals sent out to me,2 of them I don't like and would have never bought it in a million years. I called the customer service today and "spoken" to a staff on internet chat, I told her the frustration and the time that I've wasted selected my original 3 meal orders and in the end HF automatically changed my order and sent me the things that I don't like. Unfortunetly, I need to order one more time from them because someone sent me a HF giftcard, so I need to use it for my 2nd box. So far I am not happy about it and would definitely not going to order from them again, after my 2nd and final box!!!!!

“Not that desperate ”

You get bombarded with email after email and every time you ask .... Don't send again , not interested , if I was I would contact you but they don't listen, the emails continue and it gets very tedious. Friends have tried them and wished they hadn't, family have tried them and seriously regretted it , so why would I. Just for God sake , stop the emails , even though I still can't figure out where you actually got my email address from. If it continues it will go formal.

“Poor quality meats”

We purchased 3 meals, unfortunately we had to replace the chicken as it was really fatty. Tonight we had sirloin steak which was chewy and fatty. Won't be purchasing anymore.

“Nightmare customer service”

Positive: Food is tasty. Negative: Nightmare customer service. It was not easy to cancel the subscription, but after cancelling and being told there was no further payments due, over two months later I get a letter saying as a balance is outstanding the debt will be passed to debt collection company in 10days. I ring HelloFresh immediately (before the 10days) only to find debt already been passed over with handling fee already added. Hellofresh say they cannot do anything as has been passed to debt collection company and my subscription has been cancelled. I've had no emails or communication until this letter. Trying to resolve this issues is proving to be a nightmare. I recommend avoiding this company. it's not worth the trouble.

“Appalling, avoid”

Absolutely appalling and wasteful organisation. We cancelled our subscription via the app as we did not find it worked for us (Gousto is better) and after a few weeks suddenly money was taken from our account and an order was on its way. My husband immediately called Hello Fresh to complain, cancel the order and request a refund. There was time to stop the order, but Hello Fresh refused, offering half the money back instead. No recognition of the fact that they had taken our money without permission and were still holding our card details without permission. Then, in a disgusting act of food wastage, a box we did not want, order or give permission for was dumped by DPD outside our house when we were at work. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this company and if you choose to ignore my advice, you do so at your own risk.

“Just Pay and Shut Up”

I began a trial box, with 3 meals for 2 people. It was delivered late on Friday, after going to the wrong address.Inside the box in fact, were 4 meals for 2 people. According to Hello Fresh conditions, my trial had to be unpacked, prepared, cooked, eaten and evaluated and reported back on by Sunday to cancel the next box.In this way the trial was set to fail. The meals we managed to trial were small but adequate for weeknight but inadequate for Sunday lunch. None contained proper 5 a day veg unless you count a spoonfull of coleslaw. Impossible to communicate with Hello Fresh except by unreliable and evasive on line chat. I'd like to completely close my account but all they have done is "disactivate" it. Is this even legal? Sadly, I'm out

I'm sorry for your bad experience but I had similarly terrible experiences with Hello Fresh, they've taken a lot of money from me for food I never received - Goodness knows where it ended up - well I sort of do - they delivered it to wrong address & no-one received it as far as I know & I never even subscribed to order it in the first place ! All I was doing was trying them when they offered a % off & live to regret I ever did !

Appalling customer service. They’ve removed email and chat and expect people to use their Facebook page. They continue to offer the opt out rather than opt in service meaning when they fail to alert you to a defaulted order you have no option to edit or cancel and you’re charged a hefty sum for food you don’t even want! Nothing good to say about this business model, particularly their woeful customer service.

Swapped from Gousto to HelloFresh recently. Better quality ingredients, although the instruction cards aren't as good. A couple of issues sorted out quickly by CS. Can't see me changing in the future, it's just so easy and convenient for me.

“Do not use - unethical ”

Recently hello fresh sent a box that I had not ordered to my old flat paid for from an old bank account as my old hello fresh account was ‘reinstated’ when I opened a new hello fresh account hears later, COMPLETELY UNKNOWN TO ME. They just rang me with all the ‘I’m sorry, but there’s nothing we can do’ rubbish and have still charged me for the box. Of course you could have done the decent thing and refunded me! Completely unethical company.

Horrendous company!! Avoid at all cost i absolutely would not recommend this company at all. And does not deserve a one star!!! firstly and most importantly they are horrendous to deal with. I cancelled my subscription through the app by selecting cancel!! Now when a customer has selected this option while there subscription was already on hold! As a customer you would assume this was cancelled!!! Fast forward a couple of weeks and hold be told i’ve got them trying to take a payment? How & why!!!! Well i’ll tell you, after speaking with a colleague through live chat it was brought to my attention that actually cancelling your subscription does not work through the app!!!! Now that’s conning customers!!! The colleague had to manually cancel my subscription however all of a sudden i need to pay for this weeks food order (even though i cancelled weeks ago in the app) now hello fresh thats your problem not mines!!! Do not have a option on your app having your customers believe it cancels and works when it doesn’t!!!!!! And this was from july!!!!! they have an absolute cheek to now send my details to a thrid party to collect payment for their system failure!!!! Now you should have a record of all live chat conversations to confirm this!!!!! absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Extremely Poor”

The first delivery we had was fine, the meals were good but a lot of work. No real time saving over cooking on your own from scratch. After that the wheels fell off. Delivery no 2 had loads missing, so could not cook one of the meals. Delivery no 3 never arrived for no good reason, so we were left without anything to eat. Hellofresh were totally unhelpful. The service is hopeless. We will return to 'Cook' whose meals are as good and are minimal effort. Plus points: Meals were good, but quite time consuming. Minus points: Only only 1 out of 3 arrived successfully.

“Truly awful”

Made Sweet potato and coconut Dhal as instructions. Tasted disgusting. Really sweet and a synthetic chemical sweetness. Possibly as glucose syrup is in the vegetable stock. One small sweet potato for two portions too but no one would eat this out of the four of us. It actually was binned. I can’t believe the source of the good reviews if this is the standard. Also they send tortillas as cheats Chapatis. Lot of small packaging for items so seems wasteful. Biggest waste is throwing away food. Will not continue.

“Totally Unreliable”

We have been customers for a month now, and EVERY SINGLE WEEK we have had a problem with our order. Our first order came with a damaged item- one of the veg pots we had ordered had burst open in transit and covered everything in curry sauce. The second week we were missing an item in one of the meals. The third week our order wasn't delivered at all- we got an email through at dinnertime on delivery day telling us our order couldn't be delivered (you refunded us for this but it was a big inconvenience as we had planned our weekly shop and our meals for the week around that delivery.) And then today our order contained the wrong meals- no explanation, they had just given us something completely different to what we had ordered. Mistakes happen- we are all only human- but to have a problem with every single order shows a pattern of carelessness that is quite surprising from a company whose service is meant to make your life easier. Really disappointing, could not recommend this service to anyone in good faith. It's really too bad, as if the service was reliable this review would have been a positive one: the meals are very tasty and quick and easy to prepare. If only the service could get up to scratch...

“Misleading ”

A few years ago I ordered with hello fresh then recently thought I’d have another look on their site to see what they offer. Unbeknown to me as soon as you log back in your old membership is reactivated. They had old bank details of mine so couldn’t take payment but still delivered a box of food ( I had no idea what was in the box as didn’t realise I had chosen anything) then told me that if I didn’t pay with an alternative card a debt collector would get in touch! So I was £39 worse off for 3 over priced meals that I ordinarily wouldn’t have ordered.

Thought i would give Hello Fresh a whirl after being a Gousto fan! Had to input my card details in before i could even look at the menu. Looked at the menu and thought this company isnt for me. Cancelled my subscription to have a pop up that they had taken my money for my 1st box that i hadnt even picked! Had to ring them and it will be 3-5 working days to get my money back! Absolutley fuming! Shocking. Stick with Gousto. You can look at the menu and then sign up to it. Deliver always happens when it says it does and they leave in a safe place always!
