Stuffing your trousers with weasels would be preferable to dealing with these people.
My wife made the mistake of booking a ferry from Wellington to Picton (NZ). She has no military experience and assumed that "0230" was "2.30 pm". When we discovered that it was 2:30 am, we cancelled (there were no other trips with that company that day), and Bluebridge said to ask for a 50% refund of the (from memory) $118 fare.
Here is the reply we got: "We have contacted the Operator with your request of the refund and they confirmed to us the refund of $27. According to our terms and conditions we have to apply cancellation fee of NZ$64. Therefore you are not entitled to the refund."
Their web site, by using military time conventions is culturally inappropriate, and they play a cute game of hiding any contact access. What do they have to hide?
Doing this is commercially unwise, as they will now be beginning to see.
