Ford Fiesta 1.3 petrol T reg MARK/4

cost £500
88,000 when i bought it.
108.000 miles at the moment
bought with no service history.

Absolutely love this car ,

owned it for 2.5 years and in that time had only a couple of problems
- a bolt sheered of the engine mount bracket while going over a speed hump
so the engine basically dropped out of the car. charged £175 to fix the problem however felt ripped of by the garage as it was a simple job. (one bolt replaced that only cost them pennies)
And about a week later the engine mount cracked in half and the engine dropped out again. i blame the garage as they had obviously failed to spot there was a problem with the bracket, perhaps a hairline fracture they had missed.Anyways they replace the mount this time and only charged me £50, think they were a little embarrassed so had to charge me as little as possible.

then had it's first mot with me, £280 got ripped off, but needed my car at the time so just paid the money. ( failed me on Bearings of some sort and needed all new brake hoses) absolute bull.

-other problem Started to occur, (miss fired badly)
took back to same garage replaced HT leads (charged £80) and didn't replace the spark plugs.
this is something i now know should be done at the same time.
car was OK for about a month and then it was miss firing , not as badly as before
but i wasn't happy.

-2nd MOT WITH ME. then i finally went to a decent garage full service , new air filter, new oil , new oil filter,New fuel filter, new HT Leads , and new spark plugs, New MOT , also had to replace the stork controls around the steering wheel because the windscreen wash stopped coming out £200 FOR THE LOT! (very cheap)

The car is great now , it just needed a little looking after by the right people.
I had the MOT and service 4 months ago and it runs as good as it did after the service.

To be honest the whole thing with the engine dropping out was down to the seller of the car , he was believe it or not a mechanic , and a bolt had come lose that he never picked up , hence why it sheered off causing the mount to fail.

Car TAX is £135 PER YEAR.
insurance £300 PER YEAR (im a 30 year old male, live in a small town 5 years driving experience , and 2 years no claims)

i average 38.7 miles to the gallon, although there is no mpg reading on the dash , but have done my calculations correctly.
but most of my driving is A Roads, and Motorways 60-70mph it doesn't seem to matter how fast i go it uses the same amount of fuel.

had two Brand new Budget Tyre's fitted ,£32.50p each. nice and cheep!

but all in all this car is great, i'd say you need at least £2/300 stashed away to spend on keeping it on the road every year with maintenance or just things that go wrong.

but you could do that easily with a brand new car, so why bother?

anyways been told the car has a rust issue that potentially will cost, so it may be the end of the line for the car when the MOT is due. but am prepared to spend a fair amount if it's not too pricey, as the engine is bullet proof.

other than that it does the job, gets you there & gets you home,

Go buy one!!!!!!!!!!
