Hotel Sun Beach Is A Lovely Hotel With 2 Big Pools

Hotel Sun Beach is a lovely hotel with 2 big pools (which are cold but you get used to it and who would want a hot pool when it is so hot outside?) which me and my partner enjoyed every day.

The onsite supermarket is small but there are Netto supermarkets everywhere so there is no trouble buying the foods you like. The receptionists are fantastic: I practiced my spanish with them and they literally gave us every map and leaflet they had to help out. I ate in the cafeteria about 5 times and not once was my food cold; it was fairly cheap and the service was quite quick as well.

The hotel bars were lovely and ran by a hilarious man who is one of a kind! They have a fair amount of activities such as volleyball but they only run from around 10-3. Nightime entertainment varies as there is a lot of karaoke, but there was a fantastic variety show, a contortionist and a karaoke session which had quizzes etc which was good fun.The Thomas Cook party night was alright as well. The apartments are fairly big and clean with slightly outdated decor (but that's not exactly a problem). The bathroom is nice with the most powerful shower I have ever been in! The kitchen facilities are very good: you get 2 hobs, saucepans, microwave which has an oven setting, kettle, blender etc. The TV has 2 English channels (Eurosport and CNN) so there is something to relax to if you like your TV.

You either have a little patio garden or a balcony: we had a patio garden which was lovely to sunbathe in. We rented a safe and you can rent a fan, but our room was nice and cool at night (air conditioning is however being installed at the moment). The hotel is so close to the beach, only a 10 minute walk! Playa Dorada is lovely and there are many bars and restaurants on the seafront: I highly recommend the chinese Mandarin (fairly inexpensive and the waiters are very attentive). It also take 25 minutes to get to the newly built Marina Rubicon which is well worth it: there are some lovely restaurants such as Lanis and there is an arcade, bowling, bars and shops.I would highly rate the excursions Thomas Cook offer: we went on the Catlanza Catamaran where you swim in the sea, jet-ski etc. We also went on the Southern Tour which takes you to the National Park, on camels, to caves, vineyards etc which was highly enjoyable.Overall, Playa Blanca is a lovely resort (for clubs you need to be in Puerto de Carmen) and the Sun Beach Aparthotel is a lovely place to stay which is in a good location. As we left my partner commented that for a 3 star it is an outstanding place to stay and I agree.

Well Where Do I Start. Cant Think Of Any Good Poin

Well where do I start. Cant think of any good points! I wouldn't wish this holiday on anyone. Nothing was right about it. For starters when we finally got there(it took about an hour from the air port) we had to wait in queue after queue until we got to our room. The room was not clean at all and you could tell the floor wasn't cleaned every day. The restaurant was clean and the waiters were helpful but the food wasn't up to scratch. The hotel was full of older people or small children. The nearest person to my daughters age (14) was the kids club rep. Well I say kids club, what I really mean is a lad who came to the pool every so often and played the same games over and over again. Also the whole resort wasn't great. It took a good 20 minutes to reach the main beach front. However I must say the restaurants were clean and had a great variety of food. If there was a good part about the holiday this would be it. Oh and everything is overly expensive. I went on an excursion to the mountains and it was $100 each, $300 for 1 day is a bit ott. I would recommend this hotel to older people who do not want to go in the pool (because its absolutely freezing) and people who would like to sit on a lounger(if you can get one) all day and not move as there is nothing else to do. It would be okay for a few days but 2 weeks here was just draining not refreshing like a holiday is supposed to be. If you like Playa Blanca go to the H10 hotel next door. It is a lot better, and I mean a LOT!

I disagree with this review because... the pool was cold but beyond bearable (who would want a warm pool in boiling heat); the kids rep was a girl when I went there and she was very good to all the children as far as I could tell. The walk to the beach front was only 10 minutes! Finally, the excursions I went on were 55euros and 65 euros each (Catlanza catamaran including endless drinks and food and the south trip including volcanoes, camels etc) which was good value for money

We Had A Wonderful Couple Of Weeks Here, The Apart

We had a wonderful couple of weeks here, the apartments were cleaned nearly every day by a lovely cleaner. The staff were really helpful and polite. Everything was to a perfect standard and we will 100% return. Local bars are only about a ten minute walk and we were welcomed into them all even with our two children. All I can say is it was wonderful.

After Reading Some Of The Reviews Before We Went T

After reading some of the reviews before we went to Sun Beach, we didn't know what to expect. When we got there on 1st Feb 07 it was beautiful, far better than we ever imagined. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The apartment was fantastic we had two balconies, one out of the kitchen/living area and one out of the bedroom. The bathroom was really nice too. The apartment was very clean on arrival and very well equipped. Microwave cooker, toaster, TV, hair dryer etc. and a safe to which you choose the code so no one else knows it. The bedding and towels were changed 3 times during our 7 day stay.

Outside there are two large, well kept swimming pools. One of which is heated, there is a small paddling pool for the toddlers and a heated jacuzzi and an outside bar.

Some reviews have said that, it is too far to the Playa Blanca beach and town, I don't like walking very far but what are these people moaning about, it is a 5-10 minute walk and is more or less flat all the way.

There are several amenities in the complex, a shop, a restaurant, a bar, a cafe, two computers in reception so you can use the Internet pay as you go. All in all, it was superb.

This aparthotel is rated at 3 star, it should be upgraded as it is fab. We would definitely like to return.

Makes Me Laugh, The People Who Say There Is No Ent

Makes me laugh, the people who say there is no entertainment in the bar, if you stay up till after 9pm then you will see entertainment, it is as simple as that, there are posters up saying the times of whats going on. I found the Sun Beach a good aparthotel and would happily recommend it to anyone. The people who leave these bad reviews must have been walking around with their eyes closed, the place was very clean. Cleaning staff were also very polite and helpful. Don't let some toffee nosed people's bad reviews put you off!

This Was Our Second Visit To Playa Blanca. We Stay

This was our second visit to Playa Blanca. We stayed at Sun Tropical last year - what a delight.

Unfortunately, we decided to go somewhere different - Sun Beach. Beware, there is on site theft - using a key (the local police said it was probably a cleaner or member of hotel staff). The rooms are only surface clean. No entertainment although it is advertised.

Basically from what we have heard, that since this hotel came under new management, the standards have fallen considerably.

I Read Many Reviews Before Booking This Holiday To

I read many reviews before booking this holiday to Sun Beach. There were 8 of us on this holiday, 4 adults and 4 children. My friend had lots of items stolen from her room, and we were told by the police that it had been carried out by someone with a key, probably a member of staff. 2 days later someone had their safe broken in to, and had 1000 euros stolen. The management asked "well what can we do"! Thank god a child did not go back to the room and have to confront someone!

The rooms on the surface were clean, but in reality they were filthy. It was a standing joke amongst guests, that if you wanted to darken up your tan, the best thing to do was to roll around on the diry floor in the apartment! Maids leave black sacks everywhere!

Not a nice hotel really. There are better places in Playa Blanca.

Sun Beach Apart Hotel Is A Good Base For A Holiday

Sun Beach apart hotel is a good base for a holiday in Playa Blanca. The apartments are a good size and clean. also we had a nice balcony to sit. 2 decent sized pools and a small supermarket on site. Reception staff exceedingly helpful but public rooms are small especially if a wet day. The bar is a non event and needs completely revamping. Rooms cleaned most days and have a television, cooker/microwave and safe deposit which you have to pay for.

Food in restaurant very basic and best to eat out in one of the number of restaurants in the resort. We especially liked Brisa Mar on the seafront, La Cuadra in the shopping centre, Casa Jose in the square and if you enjoy Mexican food try Cantina Mexicana

Sadly, since your visit, the hotel has come under new management. Staff seem uneasy with the new management - this was very apparent. Reception and management staff were extremely unhelpful, especially when our friends had lots of their items stolen from their room.
