We moved out of our rented house one month before the tenancy expired. We nearly removed all our belongings except of a few things we would still need when we come back to prepare the house for the official handover, because the letting agency refused to let us go earlier. We left the property well secured and even left the security chain on the front door and left through the garage, because we wanted the property to be really well secured. One week later the letting agent broke into our house by removing the security chain with a screwdriver and removed all of our remaining belongings and brought in new tenants, although our tenancy wouldn't end until the end of next month. When we came back to clean the house and get it prepared for the official handover, we couldn't get into the house because it was alarm secured. Our neighbour told us that the house was rented out again and the new tenants had already started to move in. When we confronted the letting agent with all these informations she said that she acted within her rights as a letting agent, because we weren't there. She didn't even try to contact us before she gained access to our house. We are taking her to court now! So, if you have anything to do with Black Cat Properties in Bolton, be cautious!!!
