Obie Trice, Cheers

Obie Trice, Cheers is one of the most underrated albums in rap's long and illustrious history.

It is hard to get your head round why 50 Cent has been pushed and promoted ten times as hard by Eminem, yet has come up with two very average albums.

Cheers on the other hand is fresh, funny and enjoyable. Got Some Teeth achieves in one stroke three things 50 clearly cannot - humour, flow and humility.

Lady is a great track - slightly taken over by Eminem's superior flow (though Obie is not far behind).

Don't Come Down is the crucial track for me - an open love letter to his mother, a song that you can really feel.

Hits The Fan is another fine moment - Dre and Em kicking it on top form and Obie just as good.

The rest of the album is of a high standard - the likes of Busta and Nate Dogg making appearances.

It seems from the amount of guest appearances that producer Eminem felt Obie needed his hand holding through this debut album, however Obie's flows suggest this is far from the case.

I am hopeful that the next album will feature a lot more of Obie himself - and get the praise it deserves.

Obie trice, Cheers: Obie is a part of the D12 crew who has not shined yet but has bought out this album - "Cheers", which has some good tracks but not some that shine that well. However, he has perfomed whith some artists like Eminem and Nate Dogg.

One of the main songs I do like is "got some teeth" the song has a weird name but has a good beat and features the well known Nate Dogg who features with every rapper thats ever done it including Tupac. Overall an alright album.
