Aborted, The Purity Of Perversion - Created Back I

Aborted, The Purity Of Perversion - Created back in 1995, the Belgian Death Metal band 'Aborted' started producing some of the sickest gore-lyrics on the scene. Mixing Old-School-Death-Metal with meaty and fast thrash-style riffs, then throwing a bundle of samples from classic splatter films. Their debut album "The Purity Of Perversion" was first released in 1999 through Uxicon Records and contained some rather disturbing and graphic photographic artwork inside.

The tracklisting is as follows:

1. Intro

2. Act Of Supremacy

3. The Lament Configuration

4. The Sanctification Of Fornication

5. Organic Puzzle

6. Necro-Eroticism

7. Highway 1-35

8. Gurgling Rotten Feces

9. Wrenched Carnal Ornaments

With a total running time of 31mins 39secs, the album isn't exceptional value for money, but what it does offer is eight tracks of maniac speed and pure aggressive hatred that assaults you with a barrage of technically proficient guitars and lightspeed drumming. The band have kept a very chunky and deep guitar sound that gives the tracks a great depth. Vocalist Sven delivers a diverse range of vocal styles from deep and low guttural growls to ear -plitting screams.

Obviously Clive Barker-obsessed with quotes such as "Born To Murder The World" from 'Lord Of Illusions' tracks such as "The Lament Configuration" from the 'Hellraiser' series, the band show their blatant love for the horror and splatter cinema.

All in all, the album is a reasonably well-produced Death Metal debut album that shows a massive rotting bundle of potential for future releases. The band have since gone on to release the albums "Engineering The Dead" and "Goremageddon: The Saw And The Carnage Done" along with various E.P.'s and split releases.
