Goodfellas

"Ever since I was a kid I dreamt of being a gangster", no really I did! Goodfellas is a member of my gangster motion picture hall of fame. I would recommend it to anyone. I have attempted to live my life by the code the characters set out in the film as closely as I could. It taught me the valuable lesson of never to "rat" on my friends, and I learned the importance of this after I got "pinched" for the first time at the age of 12. I can't really discuss much more to be honest, but this film is truly immense! If you're a fan of this genre and you haven't seen it yet, then you're in for a right treat! It is not overly long, and it is fast-paced and a complete joy to behold.

I found Goodfellas in the Bargain bin at HMV after Christmas for a small £1.99 on VHS, it was a classic I had never seen and so it had to be bought. I would recommend buying this film to anyone that likes a gangster film. It's based on a true story and is narrated by Ray Liotta as his character joins the mob. He is joined by Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, I think we all know their credentials as gangster's in films. Having seen it I've got to say it deserves it place as an all time great that everyone should see (unless you really can't stand blood and violence).
