Very Friendly Staff. Had A Tuna, mayo Bap, Been Off
Very Friendly staff. Had a tuna, mayo bap, been off work for two days with upset stomach e.t.c. Partner order a steak bap, it arrived, no steak, it was steak that you would get out of tin...(the kind a dog would eat)not nice, small portion of chips and limp salad. nice surroundings but certainly not value for money and I would not recommend the place.

Granted, Due To Recent Flooding And Water Shortage
Granted, due to recent flooding and water shortages a lot of restaurants and food establishments are not even open, and due to The Grill on Westgate Street in Gloucester being a reasonably new place, I expect it to have a few teething problems (the place used to be called "The Haus" before and served lovely food). However, after arriving there (it was around 2pm on the Friday) we sat there for 15 minutes...with the other 3 tables around us getting served for drinks and food whilst staff stood at the bar chatting. We finally had to go to the bar and order our drinks and then ask for menus, which were finally brought to our table another 10 minutes later. We then had a 50 minute wait for our food...Pasta in a sweet pepper and goats cheese (which my boyfriend said tasted like tinned sweet and sour sauce and cheese), and my lasagne and "homemade garlic bread - though I expect it was not home made... but the lasagne was OK...minus the clumps of minced meat. Fair enough, the food may have been affected by the water shortage, but this does not explain the poor service. Granted, the staff looked very smart, and the decor was lovely, but does this really make up for the poor customer service? At 2pm you would not expect it to take so long to be served, especially when it is not all that busy (maybe the food will be better after the water is back to normal), but still you would think that they would want to make a good impression and give the best customer service after being open only a week or two. Let's hope these are all just teething problems.
