We Visited Cafe 38 Last Week And The Lady Serving

We visited Cafe 38 last week and the Lady serving is a horrible, Nasty old lady with zero people skills and she does like it if you "A" have kids and "B" dont order food. I would not recommend anyone spends there money here as she doesn't deserve your time and effort. P.S the coffee is crap aswell.

There is no choice in the drop down menu for "atmosphere" above for none.

Good Points None. Do Not Visit Cafe 38 With Its R

Good Points none. Do NOT visit Cafe 38 with its rude staff. Four of us went in to order a coffee and we asked first if this was ok as it was lunch time. However only two other tables had customers! We were answered with, memus are on the table. One of our party ordered a sandwich and we ordered tea for 3. The "waitress" for want of a better word said if we were not all ordering food she wouldn't serve us as they were not there for persons to use the WC their heat and seating. If the loos were anything like her they would not be useable anyway. Never in our years of travelling the world have we ever experienced anything like this.

Thankfully we found the Mermaids Purse a very friendly and accommodating cafe, GO THERE. No stars at all for service, food value for money etc.Had to click on the stars as unfortunately couldn't put NONE as had to answer each field. Please change this so that the true picture can be told.

Sat 18th April, Went For A Drive Along The Norfolk

Sat 18th April, went for a drive along the Norfolk coast, came across wells, looks a lovely place to stop and look around, have a drink and snack?. Came across cafe 38, nothing special but ok for a pit stop, At first seemed ok, shown to a table, when it came to ordering, thought we'd order drinks first then look at menu. My partner ordered coffee, my 5yr boy wanted pepsi max, i'm going to share with my son as he won't drink much, the host replied, NO YOU MUST ALL HAVE A DRINK TO PAY FOR COMING IN FROM THE COLD AND USE OF W.C. I was stunned , sorry only want 2 drinks thanks, i replied. hostess replied ok what are you eating. we was still looking/ don't know yet. The host took the menu away, i explained we are still looking, she threw the menus on our table.By this time we decided to leave, i explained we have changed our minds, with which she replied, i think that's best. I HAVE TRAVELED ALL OVER BRITAIN, EUROPE, EVEN AS FAR AS BRAZIL AND HAVE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH HOSTILITY AND RUDENESS IN MY LIFE, AND WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND ADVISE OTHERS NOT TO EITHER, There's a much better cafe up the road who are very polite.

We Visited Cafe 38 On Sunday 16th Nov 2008. If You

We visited Cafe 38 on Sunday 16th Nov 2008. If you have children I would strongly not recommend Cafe 38.

On entering the cafe it was empty and we sat down and had a reasonable meal, nothing special, but OK. Then a member of staff appeared whilst my son was have his nappy changed in the toilets, and tried to take my sons virtually untouched meal away. I asked that she did not, as he was unwell, and I wanted him to try it after he comes back from his nappy change. She then complained of the mess on the floor (1 chip and 2 peas). Trying to be friendly I said that I am now very good at using a broom and mop. She apparently tutted, made some kind of hurumpph noise and walked off.

On returning from his nappy changed my son started playing gently with the high chair, on which this staff member bellowed across the cafe 'no! don't do that!'At which point I was somewhat bemused.

As my son had been sitting for some time and the cafe was virtually empty, I let him wander around the quiet part of the cafe, almost straight away she shouted 'don't run around, we carry hot things in here'....which may have been a fair comment, if he had been anywhere near other customers or the kitchen, which he wasn't. Also I was standing with him, ensuring he was not causing any nuisance. I was quite surprised at the way she had reacted.

At this point my wife and I decided to leave, as my wife paid the bill, I was putting my son in his push chair, and he complained, but quite quietly, which is fair given that he was unwell, as the staff member knew, and he didn't want to go into his pushchair. She then made another comment and at this point I was tempted to point out that I believed her comments were inappropriate. However, I decide that it really wasn't worth the bother as we were leaving.

All in all, it is fair to say we will never return, and I strongly recommend that no one else does either. I feel that staff member's behaviour certainly explained why the cafe was so quiet on such a busy day in Wells.

My Friend Took Me Out To Cafe 38 This Morning For

My friend took me out to Cafe 38 this morning for a breakfast to celebrate my 37th birthday as part of my day out.

My friend ordered a full breakfast but did not want beans or tomatoes on the plate, as he does not like these items.

We were told that it was a set menu and we either take it or order something else.

My friend replied that it was not difficult not to place the beans or tomatoes on the plate, and was rebutted at this suggestion and we were told in no uncertain terms to leave the premises.

I am referring this to a higher authority as it seems that common food practices may not be in place. I will also be visiting at a day of my discretion to ask for a full explanation.

We were not tourists and are residents in Wells, I think the way we were treated was unbelievable.

I Was Told Our Breakfast Order - Slight Variations

I was told our breakfast order - slight variations to the menu - was nearly impossible! Toilets in very bad condition and had to wait a long time to be served. The electricity went out in the kitchen for a considerable amount of time. It was only the fact that we found the staff so rude that we had tears rolling down our face with laughter thinking this was possibly a windup.

I Ended Up In Wells Cafe 38 Restaurant In Norfolk,

I ended up in Wells Cafe 38 Restaurant in Norfolk, on what turned out to be their 'Harbour Day', so the place was extremely busy. Myself and my husband, 2 friends, and their 2 young children, eventually came upon Cafe 38, which from the outside looked very nice; it was also large and more importantly had some free tables! When we entered, the guy behind the serving area acknowledged us so we sat down. After 5 minutes or so, we were given several different menus. A further 10 - 15 minutes later, a waitress came to take our order. During this time we noticed that nobody in the whole place actually had any food or drinks! We gave her our order of a pot of tea for 3 people, and 3 cold drinks from the chiller. She got extremely cross when we said we didn't want any food, and told us we'd have to wait 20 minutes! I could have done it myself in less time! Needless to say we walked out. Very disappointing :-(
