Ok For Non-simmers

I bought this game as I wanted to play multiplayer like on the sims 2. Unfortunately they seemed to have got rid of that feature, which is fine. But the controls and quality of the game is ridiculous compared to the pc version on my computer. Firstly, you have to go through a loading screen every time you want to leave your house, I thought this was sims 3 not sims 2? Secondly, the map view only shows little cartoon-like houses and completely takes away from the game. Unfortunatly this game has been a big let down, for the price I thought I would get the features on my pc version, or even slightly less would have been fine. But all the features on the original seem to have been ripped out, and replaced with karma powers, which don't add to the game at all. This game has so much more potential than what they seem to have delivered. To anyone out there thinking about purchasing this game, if you can't possibly buy the pc version, it's better than nothing but if you already have it or are used to the pc games, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. as, like me you could be very disappointed.

I Have Been A Dedicated Sims Fan For Years And Own

I have been a dedicated Sims fan for years and own the complete series of The Sims and The Sims 2 games, so it was only natural for me to have a go at The Sims 3.

Strong Points:

1. The most substantial difference between The Sims 3 and the other versions is the introduction of a seamless neighbourhood which allows you to move from one end of the town to the other without seeing a single loading screen. You can walk/drive/cycle your Sim to your neighbour's house or take a stroll on the beach and rarely meet any 'screen border' constraints!

2. Personality traits are another great feature that can really help make your Sims unique. All traits come with their strengths and weaknesses so be careful which you choose as it will affect things like relationships and learning strengths.

Weak Points:

1. The base game is quite basic in terms of Sim interactions but the expansion packs slowly fix that. It is a lot harder to create relationships and it is a lot easier to lose them, same with skills, job progression and raising children. However you do have the option to alter your Sims' lifespan between 25 and 960 days which can significantly increase or decrease the story progression!

2. As expected the game is quite bare when it comes to clothing and objects so you may need to invest in some stuff packs. The upside is that you can apply a limitless number of patterns and colours to your objects/clothes thus creating lots of unique items as well as matching sets!
