Italian Job: LA Heist (PS2)

Its fun to just blast around, is very limited, my daughter and I just play tag on 2 player mode. Gorget the racing and just play tiggy and ram each other and chase around the areas, much more fun!

A good movie and a supposedly good game. How wrong people are. Italian Job: LA Heist is one of the worst games I have ever played (and I play a lot). I'll start with the good points. The settings are good, and driving around them is satisfying. The graphics are fairly medicore, especially the damage effects. The circuit races are good, the multiplayer is good and are perhaps the only thing good on this game(The only thing that stops me giving it a zero is the multiplayer). Some of the cars are pretty good (if you can unlock them that is!)

That's all the good things. Now for the bad things(Big breath!)First, the radar. This is the single worst thing in the game. It nearly forced me to smash my TV in with a large hammer, that's how bad it was. The damage graphics are appaling. Even games with graphics way behind in realism terms, Simpsons Hit and Run for example, with cartoon style graphics, had better damage effects than that. Overall, the graphics are pretty good (mainly the scenery) but everything else is total trash, worse than some PSone games. The missions are all the same in principle: Get to point A, Collect object N and return to Z which gets really dull. Gaining grade A in missions seemed easy at first. Apparently not. Hitting maybe even one car in a mission is enough to drop a grade at the end. Failure in the middle of a mission, particuarly the long ones, means you have to start the whole mission from the begining which drives you to the brink of insanity because of frustration. While the movie might have been good, THIS IS NOT. There are loads of other games out there that are loads better than this, so don't waste your money on this.
