Age of Mythology

This is a great addition to the Age of Empires range. The mythology element makes it really interesting, especially the 'god powers'.

Very addictive and fun to play, however the ability to expand civilisations is slightly limited.

I would highly reccomend you give this game a look if you like your history, mythology and strategy games.

I found this game to be really fun and addictive too. Although it is an "oldish" game I found myself still playing the odd game or two.

Pro:

1.) This game has a fantastic single player campaign

2.) Each of the three races (there is a forth race in the expansion) have radically different units and "God Powers"

3.) AI was *really* tough on hard

Con:

1.) The graphics are a bit poor

2.) The game does have a few bugs (I noticed that when I played for long times that the game slowed down a bit and when I tried to save my game, it then froze)

Very fun and addicting. My favourite game ever. Age of Mythology is a little outdated for today's standards. It could have better graphics if it would be re-released. But still I recommend Age of Mythology for the Macintosh.

It's a great game, I really am impressed on how they make learning fun. A must play game. Not enough expanse with the civs. And ages. Well recommend Age of Mythology.

Age of Mythology (also known as AoM or Age of Myths) is a mythology-based real-time strategy computer game by Ensemble Studios. It was first released in November 2002 by Microsoft Game Studios. Following good reviews and sales, Age of Mythology: The Titans expansion pack was released in 2003. Although it is a continuation of the Age of Empires series, Age of Mythology has less of a focus on historical accuracy. Instead, the game centers around the myths and legends of the Ancient Greeks, the Ancient Egyptians, and the Norse.

Age of Mythology is different from other Ensemble Studios games because it takes place in a Pantheistic solipsistic universe. Unlike previous Age of Empires games, which followed the historical progress of various nations or cultures, "Age of Mythology" follows the exploits of a band of heroes in an adventure that takes them through all three civilizations.

After Age of Empires II I never thought I would be getting Age of Mythology. It became my favourite pastime and I have been playing it multiplayer for months. It was good enough playing in the old days with classic weapons, historical personalities and the earlier ages soldiers. Now adding myth units really enchants players which makes sweeping the enemies base to dust really fun. It's something different to the Age of Empires title. Something even more colossal.

Age of Mythology is a fantastic game, it combines the art of managing a city, and the art of warfare. The wide range of units and buildings that can be created give the player the chance to try all different strategies of warfare. You could opt to use vast amounts of human soldiers backed up with powerfull siege weponary just like in 'Age of The Empires'. Or, you can create emence armys of mythical monsters and infamose heros to crush your opponents and this is only on single player. When you take 'Age of Mythology' online the battles become even more intense as your allys and your enemys are real people. The game is fantastic in many ways with the selection of your God before you start your game and the huge number of campaign missions for those who like a story line in thier games. I would recommend this game to all those who love strategy and action because it is a brilliant mix of both and a game to get excited about.

From the people that gave us Age of Empires comes the equally good Age of Mythology. This time it's in 3D with the ability to zoom in on the action.

Basically it's a revamped Age of Empires complete with better graphics and effects. There are three main groups of gods, Egyptian, Norse and Greek with their own sub-gods. Worshipping a particular god will give you exclusive powers and creatures to summon, including minotaurs, giants and serpents etc. The editor helps raise the replayability bar in addition to the multiplayer modes. It's a fun game, and if you love Age of Empires, you'll love this.
