If Hitman 2: Silent Assassin Was Anything To Go By
If Hitman 2: Silent Assassin was anything to go by this game was going to be good, if not one of the best.
To start of with it looked like it was goin' to be good, with a twist in the tale right at the start (I won't tell you what it is so not to spoil the game for you). However after the first mission the story lines become weak, the mission become easy and your concentration is not needed. You go from a hospice, to a snowy kingdom, to a statley british home, into japan then finally into france.
If you were British, as I am, you would feel insulted if not dissapointed by the way that the British people were portrayed on the game. If you were Japanese you would feel disapointed the way that the whole country of Japan was resembeled by gangs on the game and if you were French, well...
With all due respect to the creators at EDIOS, the first in the Hitman trinity was nothing special, in fact it was very dissapointing. However the second exceled itself, it was a game of pure brilliance, about blood gore and distruction, everthing a good game needs. Silent Assassin had roughly 25 levels of pure brilliance, all were filled with difficult yet exciting mission.
Contracts is a shambels. It has 11 levels. Which only took 2hrs 44minutes to complete (4hrs 34 minutes including all the other attempts I had at missions and training levels),7 out of the 11 mission are dissapointing. Once again the graphics are above average, but they still could do with work.
However Hitman Contracts does have one plus point. The last level "Hunter and Hunted". It is one of the most classic and excitin levles every to be created, all of your effort goes in to this level, it is what computer games were made for. Bursing out of a desolate room, with only 96 rounds left in your two ballers (these are the unicorns of guns, mythical yet sleek stylish), confronted by SWAT teams, and local police, the only way out is in a body bag, but that's just for the police. Hitman begins with a twist but it ends with one.
A great thing about this game is its twists and turns and the way it ends with a clear opening for a fourth game, which will hopefully be better than this.
We must show our respect to EDIOS who have impressed us with a varriation of games, which range from good to bad. This game after all the slating that I've given it comes in at average. Not one of the best games I've possessed, however it does have it's good points which swing it a little.
