Jack Kornfield, The Path with Heart

Jack Kornfield's The Path with Heart is one of the best books I have ever read on spirituality. It covers such a breadth of topics involved in our very human search for spirituality, grace & nirvana. It is a handbook for life that I will return to again and again. It has a great depth of layers. I suspect one could read through it quickly and still gain so much from it. I chose to read it a chapter at a time with long pauses for thoughtfulness and I plan to restart reading it again right from the beginning, because I'm sure I'll gain yet another layer of understanding each time I read this magnificent text. There is so much contained in this book . . . written so expressively and yet concisely. I especially enjoyed the humour and the anecdotes which made everything so much more real for me. All expressed the human search for self and spirituality so graciously. Each chapter concludes with a meditation. I am yet to record the meditations (as suggested by the author) & use them separately and probably perpetually. Yet they were wonderfully effective even when just read slowly and mindfully. I look forward to the benefit being manifestly increased once I use the recorded versions.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough for anyone in search of themselves; embarking on meditation; looking to deepen their spiritual connectedness; or simply in search of a path with heart!
