This series of books is one of the bests I have EVER read. It's all about fantasy and action, exactly the way I love it. If you're a fan of The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and other books in that style, The Dark Tower is surely a series you'll love as much as I do.
The story is well-written, the action is good and thrilling, almost everything is perfect... The only real problem about it is that sometimes the story is unclear, specially about Walter, Flagg and these names...
But, anyway, I recommend you to buy the boxed set.

Overall, if you are a fan of fantasy, thriller, or horror...or all three, you will enjoy the Dark Tower series. If you are willing to put in the time that is. The average book length, there are seven, is about 650 pages. the 5th one is 900 or so in paperback. But don't let that discourage you, the twists and turns of the plot will keep you turning the pages time and time again.
