This Is One Of Ireland's Funniest Books, Both In I

This is one of Ireland's funniest books, both in itself, and its style and pastiche/burlesque of other Irish writers. O'Brien has perfect pitch for the Irish voice, in its best and worst forms.

There are those who read ANGELA'S ASHES, and don't realize that, in the Irish tradition (after THE POOR MOUTH), it is a genre which makes fun of and exaggerates poverty. The same is true for AT2B.
