Carl Hiaasen, Hoot

I would recommend this book to the young and the young at heart alike. I really love the story in where a young boy would save the rare ground owls nesting on an empty lot where a future shop would be erected, leaving the poor owls homeless. Hoot was beautifully written with words that would really touch your heart as you witness the efforts of young boy to save the owls. It really deserves the several awards it garnered. I never felt bored reading the novel and was always looking forward for a time where I could look upon its pages some more.
