Barbara Cassani, Go: An Airline Adventure - Anyone

Barbara Cassani, Go: An Airline Adventure - Anyone who is looking for a read and is interested in the behind scenes of a leading company will love this book - we were both captivated and enjoyed to read the behind the scenes of Go. Since reading we find it hard to get the go tune out of our heads!! Well written - and well done!

Barbara Cassani, Go: An Airline Adventure - Not Ev

Barbara Cassani, Go: An Airline Adventure - Not even slightly impressed. Cassani gets a £25m gift to get started and all she could do was lose a fortune! In the REAL WORLD people have to raise their own cash and are dead commercially long before this - she harps on endlessly about how they were NOT supported by BA but misses the central truth, that without them they would never have started. I am sure that being there on the team was great fun, but I resent being told how tough it all was when most people never even get a sniff of a chance because they never had a deal with Bob.

Easy read 8/10 - real world experience 1/10 - sorry Barbs. Do better next time - in fact come and work for me and then write a book after the project alone has to open doors rather than your big name mates!

An Excellent Book That Charters The Rise Of Go - T

An excellent book that charters the rise of Go - the UK low fares airline run by Barbara Cassani and her conflicts with Go's owners British Airways. This book starts with the airlines conception and early struggle (with BA management, Easyjet and profits) and the eventually sale, first to 3i and then to Easyjet. Barbara tells her story in such a way that we really feel as if we are on her "airline adventure", she delivers the full set of ups and downs to the reader. You cannot help but feel sorry for her! You are left with a very deep wish that Barbara should set up a new Airline or other business soon.

If you ever enjoyed a Go flight, worked with Go, read about Go, held an interest in its growth or just have an interest in how good businesses are built from scratch - then this book is for you.

My only problem is that after reading non-stop through its 320 pages - it came to an end! The book is reasonably priced at £9.09 on Amazon but unfortuatly I bought my copy just after it came out from the high street - and was ripped off to the tune of €18!
