Courtney Love Is Far From Being A Goddess Which Th

Courtney Love is far from being a Goddess which this book portrays her as. I'm sure Kurt's family would disagree with the author which on Amazon.com Kurt's half sister wrote her own review on this very same book. I've seen better art from some of my school mates in High-school, and I'm sorry to see such a tragedy be playfully drawn out and written out like some fantasy the way this author and artist did. A murder/suicide is nothing to make light of and definitely not make people who really do not deserve the credit out to be saints in the eyes of Kurt's fans. It's sad to see a member of society thought it would be respectful to do such a Comic book like this.

I have to disagree with this review: Courtney was made to look like a 'goddess' because that's how Kurt saw her - he worshipped her (esp. in the early years), regardless of what we or anyone else might like to think: Courtney is represented through Kurt's eyes.

In my opinion, the artwork is very good (some of the likenesses, especially so) and has a 'grungy' feel to it - totally fitting for the dark, murky world this book is set in. Also, whether you're a fan of graphic novels or not, some of the full pages of artwork are just superb (see www.flameboycomics.com for examples).

Summing up, I don't think 'Godspeed' is disrespectful, it's a fitting tribute to a talented, tortured genius and I recommend it highly to fans of Cobain and Nirvana as well as people who appreciate good graphic novels.

Peace.
