Good pictures and very good sound on the LG DA-3520. A lot of cable for speakers. Good design. Internal fan to cool down the things. Overall, the optimal relation between quality/price.

I have had my LG DA-3520 2 years now and paid £300 from curry's, they must have come down in price judging by the other reviews(if still available).
Overall I have been very happy with the home cinema system and it's the only way to watch DVDs to get the full affect.
As I said it as developed a whistling noise which is only noticeable during quite bits of a film.
With being an older model it doesn't like dvd-r and it won't read jpegs. But you can get a multiriegon hack. Today there are allot of better models that will read anything you throw at them

This is proving to be excellent value for money, particularly when the speakers are placed on stands for a full effect. The surround sound is clear and the picture quality is superb. The dvd player has a multitude of features including zoom.
It's hard to see how much more you could expect from a system and for £199.99 from Argos this was a steal. LG are specialists in affordable technology and this proves it !!
I agree fantastic value DVD player. I have had no problems from the remote although there is no RGB output...the best you can hope for is S-VHS which is still very acceptable.
Multi region hack is also fantastic.
I also bought this from Safeway fro £199, great value. How do you get surround sound direct from Sat receiver. I thought it only produced stereo sound. My system also seems to create a small level of interference on the TV picture when running sound from TV source. Improved when I bought better sceened leads.

The LG DA-3520 is a silver coloured, one piece dvd, tuner and amplifier all in a slim box. Speakers are matching colour in neat and responsive units.
Having only paid £199.99 ay Currys in the Xmas sale, was surprised at the quality of sound and vision.
Only used for one week so problems may arise, but fingers crossed.

I've tried the VCD hack and it works. I haven't tested the region hack yet. It plays DVD+R but not DVD-R it seems.
I have some problems playing backup copies of my dvd because the movies goes for 30 seconds then it stops and after 1 or 2 seconds restarts(i use Verbatim DVD-R), can it be the speed of mastering?
