The Marantz Dv7010 Dvd Player Is Beautiful Just To

The Marantz DV7010 DVd player is beautiful just to look at on the shelf! The overall layout is great and the materials used exude fine quality that'll outlast the technology. Being a designer these things tend to matter to me as well as the more technical issues, which are also excellent. CD playback is full bodied, DVD picture and sound is just spot on. Bargain price at richer sounds of £299. I would be reluctant to pay the full £700 for it but high value at three or four hundred quid.

I Bought The Marantz Dv 7010 Dvd Player Two Months

I bought the marantz DV 7010 DVD player two months ago (may 2002) and used it quite a lot. I was planning on buying a cheaper DVD player (Onkyo 535) but when I saw the difference in picture quality I knew I would regret buying the onkyo - the picture quality of the Marantz DV 7010 was supperb!

The thing I didn't noticed when I bought the player was the noisy CD transport mechanism. As mentioned in other reviews, it really quietens down when the movie starts playing, but in very quiet movie scenes I still hear the transport. Fortunately during CD playback the transport quietens down some more.

I have to agree with the noisy transport system as detailed in this review but would like to add that, for me, this hasn't presented itself as much of a nuisance. The transport seems to be noisy when it doesn't matter too much i.e. not when you're actually watching or listening to the important stuff. This is the finest player I’ve had the privilege of using.

I've Used The Marantz Dv-7010 Dvd Player For About

I've used the Marantz DV-7010 DVD player for about a month and have been very happy with it. It really gives a smooth playback with minimal/no pauses.

For a component of such obvious quality, I would have expected it to be a bit quieter. It's fairly noisy on menus, but it quietens down quite a bit once the movie starts playing. Not quite sure why, but I guess the menu is the best place to have excessive noise :-)

I'm absolutely stunned by how good the video quality is on the Marantz. It handles panning across scenery (i.e. country side or city lights) superbly and does quite well in low light pictures. Audio is very good.

Discs load very fast, averaging 4-5 seconds for DVDs and about 9 seconds for CDs. I'm surprised CDs take longer to load. Most players are the other way around, but with both taking significantly longer than with the Marantz, I can certainly live with those times.
