I Thought That This Was A Really Great Easy Tto Us
I thought that this was a really great easy tto use and cheap machine that will endure for a large amount of time. Brilliant. 5/5. I loved every single thing about this and was only dissapointed by the seeming diffuculty to find a multi-region hack.

If You Have Read The Previous Review You Know Ever
If you have read the previous review you know everything you need to know... except that you can easily make the player multi-region by doing the following:
1. turn on the player.
2. eject the tray.
3. slowly enter the following numbers on the remote:
1-1-1-1-0
4. the unit will now display the new region
5. close the tray
This has been a terrific player and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. If you can find one, grab it!
I did the region hack and now it plays other region discs but the screen flickers?
You can also get a Philips 724AT if you can't find the Magnavox MDV-450. It's the same unit.
To eject via the remote, just push and hold the "1" button for three seconds. (see page 16 of manual under "number buttons"). That eliminates any of your negatives and proves this is an excellent machine and unbeatable for the price. I bought one for myself and had 4 friends get the same unit. Now I'm trying to find a second one for myself. Enjoy!

For the price, this Magnavox MDV450 DVD player is a GREAT unit. Works perfectly out of the box. It is region limited to 1 (as stated on the box). But I have no need for other regions... Remote is well laid out and mostly intuitive.
There is a region hack that works! And a macro bypass too. Just go lookup on www.dvdrhelp.com and use the DVD player lookup. There is a hacks link that has all the details. Most report the region hack works and some say the macro. the region hack works on mine. And yes there is no firmware updates that I found yet.
