Would Not Recommend The Sony Cybershot Dsc-p93! 80

Would not recommend the Sony CyberShot DSC-P93! 80% off my pictures are blurry. The subject needs to be standing perfectly still in order for the picture to come out clear.

The P93 Is My First Digital Camera. I Didn't Want

The P93 is my first digital camera. I didn't want to spend a great deal of money since I don't take a lot of photos! Or should I say "I didn't" cause now I do :-)

What are the strong points of this camera?

It's just so easy to take pictures or record a video with this camera. The pictures are of really good quality too. The videos are not as good as the videos you get from a dedicated video camera but they are good enough to capture some special moments. Now, if you know a little more about cameras then the camera has a menu for you to adjust it the way you like it. If you don't know anything about cameras, don't worry just take the default setup and away you go. The life of the battery is also excellent. Another good thing is the view finder, sometimes it's really dificult to see through the little screen when it's sunny. Well, that is not a problem for this camera as it has a view finder as the non digital cameras do. There are so many little things that make this camera great. For instance, if you want to save the battery but keep the camera on the you switch the screen off. It is easy to change between full, half, or no flash at all. Easy to set for close up pictures, etc, etc. It's so easy to upload the photos to my PC then I think a child could do it. To review the photos you want to keep, you can either do it in the same camera which is very easy to do, you can even zoom in if you want to, or you can connect the camera to the TV, the cable is included, and go through all the pictures, we prefer this option.

What are the weak points of this camera?

The only one I have found so far, I have had it for 3 months, the night mode photos came out of focus. Perhaps I need to do some ajusments that I don't know about it. I'll have to investigate into it!

The memory stick is rather small at 32MB. I bought a 256 MB together with the camera so I'm OK.

Another one that I just remember, there is a plastic cover to protect the input sockets (phono, USB) that can be broken off if you are not careful.

Having Been A Gadgeteer For Many Years I Have Neve

Having been a gadgeteer for many years I have never bothered getting a digital camera until this last month. I read many reviews including the 1 on this website and decided this Sony P93 was the best 5MP camera compared to others.

Within 1 hour I had quickly taken a photo & transferred it to my pc - simple. I have just used the movie mode today and that also is easy and it has sound aswell. I bought mine even cheaper than amazon.co.uk who are offering it at £233 but I bought mine on the web from www.pixmania.co.uk and guess what - you can get accessories at a good discount price so I bought a package. I got the camera plus I also got a 128mb memory stick (the camera does come with 32mb) and I got the 9 in 1 card reader all for £250 inc delivery by DHL within 24 hours !!!

In the box came the sony camera charger also - I tracked it on line and found out it was being shipped from paris. When I got it - the only thing that was different was the sony battery charger it had the 2 pin socket on the charger - but this is no problem as I found a shaver adaptor and plugged it into the mains using that.

I just thought all of the people out there should know about what I got for the price - great deal and a great camera.

I didn't need to use the usb cable that came with my camera as I bought the card reader so all I need to do is take out the memory card and put it in the reader which is attached to my laptop via usb connection and it is instantly recognised. From there you can find your extra drive with your pictures on. So a card reader is a must then it doesn't wear your batteries down when wanting to get your pics on the pc.

Well I haven't got a lot of time to read how to do all the other functions but at least I can take a snap or 2.

Highly Recommended. The Sony Cybershot Dsc-p93 Is

Highly recommended. The Sony Cybershot DSC-P93 is a digital camera for all times and all places. If you set up the camera right (which is very easy to do), you'll get really professional pics. The p93 is smaller in size than the older p92. Has a more powerful digital zoom of 12x and provides a maximum Resolution of 5.1 Megapixels in comparison with the 5.0 Megapixels of the p92. The price difference between the p93 and the p92 ranges according to shop from 20 to 50 Euros.
