Mustek MDC 4000

The Mustek MDC 4000 digital camera has plenty of features, but even with the best features, if the picture quality is useless, then the features are redundant.

I totally regret ever clapping eyes on the wretched thing! Every picture taken is blurry. Flash consistantly overexposes every photo. Lens has black blob that appears on every photo. It totally ruined every holiday shot I took while overseas. I sent a sample image to Mustek and they said that the camera was "normal" and doesn't have any autofocus whatsoever. The camera is junk. Our backup camera was a cheap Benq DC1500 1.3mp. All pictures taken with the Benq were sharp but only 1.3MP. The Mustek is junk, and I warn everyone away from these camera.

We also bought a Mustek DVD player. It skips and stops and cannot read even brand new DVDs from beginning to end. Every DVD has to be ejected halfway through and reinserted to continue the movie.

I will NEVER buy Mustek products again.

We recently bought a Nikon Coolpix 4300, and have never looked back! Every image is sharp sharp sharp.

Buy a visioneer mx200-- much nicer and cheaper. where were these reviews when i bought this Mustek MDC 4000 Digital Camera, it's a piece of rubbish. the mustek dv4000 isn't much better.

This is a good camera for the price. I paid around $170.00 USD. It takes quality photos in all resolutions and holds plenty of pictures. Uses a small sandisk card. Built in memory is sufficient. Menu is difficult to understand and since everything is small it is not comfortable to hold. Flash and self timer seem to work quite well. If you are looking for a low cost 4 mega pixel camera this one is adequate but spending the extra money for a better quality may not be a bad idea.
