In Spite Of Sending 6 E-mails To Symantec Regardin

In spite of sending 6 e-mails to Symantec regarding NORTON INTERNET SECURITY 2005 and receiving an e-mail back from technical dept saying that I would receive communication back within 96hrs, and as a loyal Symantec customer I would receive a 10% discount on my next purchase from Symantec. To date 11days later I still have had no further communication as far as I am aware from Symantec. I even sent an e-mail to USA head office and my e-mail was directed back to the original site from where I first started, i.e. Support and Technical. It appears that Symantec are very quick to grab your money but if you have a problem there is no help available what so ever.

My original problem was that having only just renewed my subscription my computer was saying that my Norton Internet Security 2005 was to run out on 11/05/08. I went back to Symantec and told them the problem, and as I had only renewed my subscription at the beginning of this year would they please correct the problem and confirm from their records the date to which my security was covered. I have received no response what so ever from Symantec in spite of me now having sent 8 e-mails and requesting each time for somebody to have the decency to reply to my e-mails. I can only speak of my experience with Symantec but as I have already stated they will grab your money but don't have a problem for you will receive no help from SYMANTEC.

Firstly And Most Importantly I Would Not Recommend

Firstly and most importantly I would not recommend this Norton product.

Although straightforward to use, it failed to stop adware from getting into my PC, then was not able to resolve it and remove the adware.

Support from the Norton / Symantec web site is awful. There seems to be no structure to the web site so you are following links without finding the information you want. (though there is plenty of opportunity to 'upgrade' or buy the product!!) The contact telephone numbers did not work and despite requesting a call back several times this never happened. 'Live Chat' took over a hour wait before an advisor was free, then they were less than helpful and passed me around to other departments without solving the problem.

I have written a letter of complaint to Norton but after no response, have since sent 3 further letters and still they cannot be bothered to reply.

So despite paying them £38 every year to keep the subscription up to date, they have failed to offer any assistance.

I plan to buy a Mcaffree package instead and remove everything to do with Norton / Symantec from my PC as I have no trust or faith in them.
