I Am Glad With My Purchase. The Rega P3(24) Will
I am glad with my purchase. The Rega P3(24) will bring out flaws in vinyl that would normally not be noticed. New or near mint quality records sound better than CD with the improved stage presence, but dirty records will need care to perform at their best.
The Rega P3 I've Got In Silver Looks Great! It So
The Rega P3 I've got in silver looks great! It sounds good also but there have been "ticking" issues with the motor, that I'm told by the dealer will go away. We'll see. There is a definite hum at higher volumes when music isn't playing that I believe is related to the lack of grounding and the motor, cartridge combination. I specifically bought a Rega Super Elys cartridge with this unit so I wouldn't have this problem. I've also got a Linn and when it was hooked to the same system there were no problems. All and all purchasing the Rega was a mistake for me. I was looking for a well made unit that played music without messing with it all the time. For $1,100 this is the most disappointing audio related purchase I have made.

I Bought My Rega P3 Turntable Complete With Elys C
I bought my Rega P3 Turntable complete with Elys cartridge.... on the first day I had the deck, the cartridge packed up. Then the deck had an intermittent problem with the arm, which the dealer couldn't trace. Finally, the plinth cracked so badly that I insisted on a replacement. It still sounds a bit crackly, but I can live with it.
Seriously folks, you need to think VERY carefully before spending money on this product: ignore the magazines, think whether you would prefer to invest in something that actually works. I have NEVER bought a piece of hifi with such appalling build.
It doesn't matter HOW good it can sound if it won't go....
Glad it\'s not just me with a negative opinion of the current budget Rega line - they were excellent in the 80s.

My First Rega P3 Had Very Obvious Rumble. The Repl
My first Rega P3 had very obvious rumble. The replacement which I've still got unfortunately has a fault whereby an earth-induced hum increases as the arm moves nearer the centre spindle. At the end groove of an lp the hum is noticeable from a normal sitting position. It is not the motor, as this fault is evident with the mains plug disconnected, it is most likely faulty arm wiring. The sooner I sell this and get a Project RPM 9 the better - P25 forget it!

I Had The P3 For 2 Very Happy Years, ( Before Upgr
I had the P3 for 2 very happy years, ( before upgrading to a MICHELL GYRO DECK ) and always loved the warm smooth reproduction that the P3 offered.
I have to agree - having heard many Turnatable combinations. I too own a Gyrodec now. I have several friends who own, or have owned, the Rega and thay are all more than happy with it's sound.
