Numark CDN 88

In my opinion, the Numark CDN88 is nothing but over priced rubbish.I bought two of them from separate suppliers, and both had exactly the same faults ie the right hand tray would operate intermittently. Now twice is too much of a coincidence, and it had to be a design fault or faulty batch components, but Numark were in complete denial ( well, they would be, wouldn't they ? ) So, that was £800 quid down the pan, and they are now up in the attic gathering dust. A piece of junk, that was only used 3 or 4 times. And another thing, I would suggest is this. You don't need all these special effects, whistles and bells and so forth to do a disco. I've been in this business for over 3 decades and I've never known a customer yet who could care less about scratching, loops, cue points and all the rest of it. These pretensions are simply there to feed a deejay's over inflated ego. You really don't need all this stuff. What you need is a robust and reliable unit that will perform the basics with good anti shock and effective key control. The rest you can forget about. So instead of spending resources in finding ever new ways of developing electronic equipment that will light up like a Christmas tree, Numark would do better to invest in the basics. Also, mixing on site is art for art's sake. It may require some skill, but it's a skill you don't need. You could cobble together good mixes if you need to, on a home computer. Job Done! Paying customers don't notice this stuff. They don't see it. They don't care. No one will complain if a fancy siren does not go off in the middle of their favourite dance record, but they will certainly care if your music or presentation is poor, and even worse of your decks pack up like the CDN88 has a regular habit of doing. What people want is reliability, good music, and deejay who knows what he's doing. NOT whistles and bells. There endeth my little rant.

The Numark CDN-88 is one of the best units out, if you are looking to get started the same day this is the unit for you. I have used many systems but for the price the Numark CDN-88 is the best hands down. for the tricksters there's scratching, beat keeper, sound effect and more
