First Of all I was very sceptical because of some reviews I had read. I can tell you that my experience was nothing like the bad reviews. The software I ordered arrived after a few days. Installing the software is also very easy, you just need to follow the steps on the instruction provided by them. The software itself is also very easy to use. I myself was a beginner and started from zero. The software does a very good job adjusting the difficulty level to your skills. For example it repeats words I had trouble memorizing. Overall I can absolutely recommend this software as my personal experience was nothing but positive I really cannot understand some of the bad reviews

“Enough content to keep you learning for a year ”

I have been using the Russian course for a year. And there is still more to learn. More than I expected in the course. Quite happy with it. There is software (Window, but still ok), 2 audio CDs, a pdf workbook and a pdf grammar included in the course. Would have been nice to have on an iPad, but alright, all the same.

“Application is not up to date for new technologies”

Leesenpakket zijn niet up to date in nieuwe wagens Ik kocht een lessenpakket om Grieks te leren in de wagen. Ik kreeg een cd toegestuurt. Maar mijn nieuwe wagen heeft geen cd applicatie. Ik vroeg de klantendienst welke oplossing ze hiervoor hebben. Ik kreeg het cynisch antwoord dat het niet hun fout is dat ik een nieuwe wagen heb. Dit lessenpakket is niet up to date voor nieuwe applicaties en technologie.

“Linguashop - Absolute rubbish”

I had the same problem as other people have had. This doesn't work on a Mac. This is 2018, you shouldn't need to comb through the small print to see if it will work on a mac or not. When I asked for it in a file format I could read Customer service came back with a short reply saying it was my problem for ordering the wrong thing. I have contacted Mastercard to cancel the transaction of the basis it is "not for for purpose". I also note that the stuff I can see looks decidedly unimpressive. If you want to learn a foreign language I recommend you give Linguashop a very wide berth and buy elsewhere.

“Unfreindly and threating their customers”

I bougth this software in ordet to lean icelandic. It looked nice. It says on the website that it comfortabel with Windows of different types. I assumed that since it was was not written that is was not comfortable with Mac software i believed that it was. I read the website over again and nothing was written about not comfortabel with Macs so I tried. Sadly it didn't work so I write an email asking for my money back since it wasn't jused and May have my garanti-period. I got a very unfreindly and threating mail back. Finally they agreed to find a comprimise if I "admit" to made a mistake which I belive I dindnt - I just believed it to work with Macs. Fair and square. But it didn't. After that I resived this mail: "Sorry but that is not acceptable to us. The information on the site was clear. The description was accurate and you were free to try the software before buying." So first a comprise and then their pulled out. Not a nice customerservice. So dont get mislead by the website or you Will be threaten by the firm og have to "admit" to them. I Will Try to ask the European customer center for help. Kindly Regards

“Amazing results in a short time”

First of all, Russian is an amazing language. There are so many aspects of the language that are different from English. This means that learning Russian is very difficult indeed. The Teach Me Russian course from Linguashop does a good job in making this task easier. One of the key features of this course is that you don't need to learn the Russian alphabet to get started. It's possible to learn the words and phrases with normal English letters. This means that you're learning with a script that is immediately recognizable. For example, the Russian word for 'table' is 'стол'. But unless you already know the Cyrillic alphabet you would have no idea how to pronounce this. The software, however, presents this word as "stol" which any English speaker can pronounce. In this way you can learn say 100 words by heart and then switch the software to 'Cyrillic' script and learn the words again, already knowing them, but this time in Cyrillic. I have spent about 30 minutes per day with the software over the last month and my retained vocab is already around 400 words (the software tells you how many words you know). That is better than I had expected when I starting learning. For that reason alone, this course deserves 5 stars. e

“Quite an enjoyable course”

I have been using this course for about two weeks and have learned quite a lot of Russian so far. The audio is very good, the words are pronounced very well, and slow enough for a learner to follow. The course is very easy to use, there is really nothing complicated about getting started, click “vocab” or “grammar” and then “auto-learn” and the software picks a lesson for you. The vocab section has images for the word in English along with the English word. As you get better on each word, the English word fades away, leaving just the image. This is an ingenious way to learn. First from the comfort of seeing the English word and later (when you are more confident with the word), of just seeing the image. I have Russian friends and expect to be able to start conversing with them in Russian shortly.

“Good supplement but not a learning tool”

The product arrived quickly and the support staff answers emails quickly. However, YOU CANNOT RETURN THE PRODUCT for any reason other than that it does not work.After reviewing the product, I realized it was would be of no more use to me than a language book. I felt that the exercises are not intuitive and are based primarily on reading and memorizing. It was unclear where I was able to type to complete the exercises. The help menu and text loaded very slowly. I originally purchased it for my teenage daughter to learn Russian for school. However, I didn't feel that this was a program designed for full language training, only supplemental learning to a comprehensive program. I contacted the support department originally, because I could not figure out how to activate the software. As I waited for his fast response, I found the means of activating and did so. However, when I told him that I did not feel the software would work for my daughter and asked about the return policy, he responded defensively and indicated the following: "The terms and conditions to which you agreed are clearly visible on the site. There are no returns. Nowhere on the site, in any location, is there any indication that this is a product for children." Then proceeded to send another email insinuating that I was attempting to hide the fact that I activated the product. I was disappointed by the product and service received by this company. Both need work to be done on them.

In my experience, it is NEVER possible to return any software program, music CD, or DVD movie once the packaging has been opened so I don't know why you are surprised that you could not return this item. Also, if it is a good supplement then it is well worth the money paid. Any help with learning a language is always a bonus. I have had nothing but excellent five-star help from the customer service department of Linguashop.com and am saddened to see their reputation damaged by a one-star rating!

It is absolutely possible to return software, etc. Most programs of this sort have a 15-30 return policy. Further, A purchase of a supplement would be worth the money if I was interested in purchasing a supplement to a comprehensive program. However, I was not. I was purchasing what was advertised to be a full program rather than simply a supplement. I understand your frustration, and am glad you had a great experience. I, however,did not.
