“Be warned!”

★★☆☆☆

written by Maximilliane477 on 19/03/2014

The lack of after sales customer service from Weathershield is breathtaking - as previously stated by others, they are keen to do business and take your hard-earned money but if there are any problems.... well forget it, they don't even bother to pretend to want to help. Businesses survive or fail on reputation, if we'd known how poor theirs is amongst the local trade and associated fitters we wouldn't have touched them! Shame, as the basic product is reasonable quality.

“Never again!”

The review by dpcwea is actually written by one of the Directors. The product isn't bad but the Customer Service, particularly After Sales, is non-existent. In fact worse - obstructive and rude. OK when they're taking your money, forget it if you need any assistance getting the product right afterwards. There are plenty of companies out there who deserve your custom and hard-earned money - this isn't one of them.

“POOR AND DISSMISSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE BORDERING ON...”

★★☆☆☆

written by surfing69 on 24/07/2011

Website is www.wea-uk.com and they are based in Coventry. If you want detailed technical information about their windows before buying, I would suggest looking elsewhere. When I asked what BS/EN standards their double glazing units complied with, the managing director became confused and couldn't or wouldn't provide me with these important details. Other companies like Anglian or Solaglass not only list the standards their double glazing units comply with on their website but also confirmed this information again by email. When I pressed the managing director on the 'standards' issue, he eventually replied "I wish you the best in any future project you may have and respectfully decline any enquiry". However much later on, and possibly against my better judgement, I decided to order 2 double glazing units from them. I eventually received a voicemail message from them late one Friday afternoon stating that my units were ready for collection. There was no other instruction left with the voicemail. When I visited their website, I noticed that their opening hours included Saturday morning. As the next day was a Saturday I made a 4 mile journey to their factory site. However when I got there a member of staff told me that collections were NOT available on a Saturday and whoever left the message on my machine should have informed of this. I therefore wasted precious resources in making an unnecessary journey. I decided to submit the following complaint by email; "On Friday 17 June 2011, I was left a voicemail message from 'XXXX' stating that my glass units were ready. Please find attached copy of the message. There was nothing in the message to advise me to make arrangements to collect the units and neither did it advise me against turning up on Saturday. Today I made the journey to your factory only to be told by member of staff that I should have been advised that it was not possible to collect units on a Saturday unless prior arrangements were made and I should been advised to make arrangements to collect during the week. As a result I wasted my time and resources on a journey that I should have been advised not to make on a Saturday. Your website clearly states opening hours include Saturday 9-1pm. It fails however to inform that Saturdays are for sales ONLY and not for collections. I would like an explanation for this unacceptable situation." Their response was: "Please contact the office so we can issue a full refund. You are then free to place your order with another supplier and suggest you consider the tone of your emails, when dealing with that company." In my opinion, there was nothing wrong with the tone in my complaint. The managing director oversees all correspondence and he seems to have an arrogant and dismissive attitude when it comes to dealing with customer enquiries and/or complaints.

In addition, they were very quick to take payment from my credit card and did so on the date of the order but it took 7 days and a threat of action before I received the refund from them.

This is the most ridiculous complaint I have EVER heard. It seems that you have been very arrogant with this company and they have offered you a refund rather than deal with you. Some people are impossible to please and, given that they have offered you a refund you should leave it that and buy elsewhere. Pathetic!

I have found Weathershield Windows to be rude and bordering on the illegal. I had a window fitted about 15 years years ago and have had several calls in the last year asking if I was satisfied with their work. As far as I could remember it was Ok and said so. I then had the same sales spiel about a 40th birthday offer. I asked for the caller's name who said it was John Carter.
The last two or three times I tried to explain politely that I wasn't interested and had to put the phone down as they didn't take the hint and kept on with their sales patter. Afterwards our phone mysteriously didn't work properly and we couldn't ring out. I made a mental note to follow this up but time is precious and I left it.
Today I had the same thing and asked for a name i.e. John Carter and tried to say without being rude that we weren't interested and we were fed up with their calls. "John Carter" said it wasn't him that called before but as I tried to get off the phone he persisted on pushing it and I recognised his voice and sales script and finally had to hang up to get rid of him.
This time again there was a problem with our phone. The phone then rang again and I left it on answerphone. There was no message, only a ringing tone. The answering machine said the caller's name was withheld. We put the phone down and then tried to ring a number but oouldn't as the ringing tone was still there. I had to ring our home number from the mobile to clear it.
We have never had this problem before on the phone except on the previous times we got calls from Weathershield Windows.
I am now looking for ways to follow this up and am keen to take the matter further as it borders on criminality. If Weathershield Windows are reading this they need to sort out this bad practice and sort out their sales dept.

I had a front door fitted in 2019. The company has now ceased trading apparently so I need to apply to the insurance backed guarantee people, but they will only look at it if I produce weathershields guarantee which I don’t think was ever sent to me. Does anyone have the same experience or does anyone have a copy of this? Thanks
