Basfords were contacted to replace all our windows and doors. We are extremely happy with the results. Competitive prices and never pressured us into making a decision. After a few quotes from local origin dealers we decided to go with Basfords, they were by far the most Professional company we visited, their Showroom was first class and had a lot of choice after speaking to the team who helped us choose the colour and specification including doing us a cad drawing and putting this on a pic of our house really useful. The windows look great and front door especially we get a lot of nice comments although we don’t want anyone local to have the same one. I have already recommended Basfords to family . Thanks to all

Our experience with our windows and bifold doors with Basfords has been first class. We ordered a unusual colour and they were the only company we had to go the extra mile and have a sample made for us to check . They had a really large range of different systems to choose from we had sliding doors 2 sets from sunflex and the whole house from origin. The fitters were very professional and left no mess , we were walked around the whole job before they left, also called to make sure we were happy . A great experience we would use again thanks to the team .

From the first day we stepped into Basford's, the service has been nothing short of amazing. From the advisor in sales to the final payment, through each department the transition was smooth. Did a whole house new windows, and they look great. Couple of frames had flaws/scratchs from the manufacturers, but basford's came out and fixed them real quick. lovely job.

Conservatory renovation was done by Basfords. Glass ceiling panel's inner component broke spontaneously a few weeks after their engineers worked on it and company refused to honour guarantee. I paid for replacement glass - wrong colour and type of glass installed. Despite constant chasing, phone calls and emails, there is no hope of a replacement glass. Conservatory is now leaking and they do not want to know. There is no communication, broken promises and DO NOT believe a word they promise. No hope of redress, unless you go to Trading standards or small claims court. Do not expect any aftercare from this company.

Terrible, terrible company. We placed a £20k order with them. Huge delays to installation due to their mistakes. Then all the windows are wrong and/or damaged. Some still aren’t here (6 months after ordering) due to further mistakes. Customer service is diabolical. We have chased endlessly and got nowhere. Emails ignored, calls never returned. Please pay attention to these negative reviews and save yourself the hassle - use someone else!

We had a conservatory and two sets of sliding doors fitted. They sent just two men to fit the doors which four men (including our builders) struggled to carry. The conservatory looks ready to fall down with dripping guttering, bits fallen off and the worst is it leaks but they won't come out to it. We have been trying to contact them for over a year now and all our calls have been ignored. Please don't be tempted to use them. 5he customer service is non existent.

We had new Windows, corner opening Bifold doors and front door ordered and and installed by Basfords LTD. The windows and Bifolds were manufactured by Origin and are a fantastic addition to our extension. The Endurance front door is equally wonderful. We are very happy with the hardware indeed and they have lived up to the recommendations when guided during our showroom visit. He also took time to reconfirm our front door order fully as we had gone for some options that were different to regular door orders. Our installation by Basfords was truncated due to the current COVID situation however when we needed critical installation milestones completed they were met. I can’t speak highly enough of everyone during these critical pinch points. They ensured that our needs were met. All of the hardware was installed, they were very knowledgable and thorough with the install. As with hardware of this type install can be problematic and residual work was required but again the guys came back and completed everything to our satisfaction. We are now enjoying the extension and will likely be back for further glazing work to be completed. Thank you.

This company used to be good but sadly not any more. We ordered a large bi-fold door and a replacement window. They promised to do this in one day. The bi-fold is fitted but this took place over three different days, a couple of hours here and an hour there. There is slight damage to the white surface which they promised to repair but, despite several reminders, it remains untouched. Three times we have prepared the room ready for the window to be fitted and three times they have let us down. There have been no courtesy calls to warn us that they would not be coming and when we rang them and got through on an automated line and left a message, they never returned our calls. My husband called round at the showroom and he was informed that the men who should have fitted our window had been deployed to another job. We feel like we don't matter to this company. We have never received such bad treatment from any people we've employed to work for us and we have never before left a bad review. It's been months since we placed our order and we have no idea when the work will be done.

The person I dealt with couldn’t have been helpful enough in advising on products and providing specification details for a gorgeous new barn conversion project that included Origin windows and doors, 6m Deutman sliders , Timberlook windows and two large Aluminum custom items all in anthracite grey. As a result my I placed a 35k order paying in full in June last year. The Surveyor did an excellent job on site and ironing out details with the construction team. It was all going so well. Then the problems started. Incorrect products, missing items, incorrect installations, installers putting cheap plastic trims over the gaps between my aluminum windows instead of the correct origin trims, installers repeatedly not turning up and not once Did Basfords do me the courtesy of a phone call or email. It was always me having to chase, me having to often send 10+ emails or make even more phone calls to get any kind of resolution. I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, but there seems to be no communication between fitters and the office staff responsible for installation. The three most expensive items were all incorrectly fitted and it eventually took me spending two whole days spamming the MD with phone calls and emails to get him to come to site and survey the mess himself. Sadly despite The protestations that all would be imminently resolved, fast forward another four months and I’m still waiting for the final finishing items to be installed. It’s just such a shame as this project could have been a success had Basfords just got themselves a current chain of command and communication procedures. It’s not rocket science to contact someone if you’re not going to turn up or if somethings been overlooked. Anyone thinking of using this company, don’t.

We did use them and sadly our experience has been truly awful. Like you we started off so well but then when things went wrong they didn’t want to fix them unfortunately. Such a shame but we are 10 months on from when we ordered and we still have not had our 2 faults corrected which include a window that doesn’t even open

What an absolute debacle. I’ve never experienced any company as bad as this. Fitters were late on every occasion. Windows were broken on site, fitting was diabolical and 2 windows were mis- measured and couldn’t be fitted leaving me with temporary, unsecured windows for a fortnight. No apologies from management and the MD has never once replied to my many emails. So far the fitting is still unfinished after 6 months. The front door was re-ordered 3 times and on the 3rd attempt, it was still faulty. All walls were badly damaged during fitting and many windows still have flaws. Don’t touch this company despite the other ‘good’ Reviews. They may seem professional and caring at sales level but once the order is placed they are unbelievably rude and inefficient. If this review can deter even one person from ordering with them, they’ll have had a lucky escape. Worst decision I ever made going with this company.

I'm disappointed to see the numerous reviews you have posted online in an attempt to sabotage our companies reputation. For all potential customers who read this, you were a previous happy customer who had some bi folds installed. The project you are referring to in your reviews is the installation of all your windows. You chose a window that had an 8 week lead time and bespoke purple door which takes up to to 12 weeks. In some circumstances the product can be received and rejected by ourselves if not 100%. This is standard practice and surely most people will accept if a product is rejected we have to wait for another product to be made. Your door is not faulty, it had slight damage to the frame reported by you 3 weeks after installation. I've got all of the before and after images of the installation and more than happy to show anyone the high standard of finish that was achieved. We've tried to reach out to you are non responsive.

unfortunately we have made the mistake, yesterday we were trying to get some glass doors fitted, the placement was delayed in the first place as they couldnt get a fitter out to us, when they did the glass doors were all wrongly measured and to big to fit, they took the glass back to basefords and came again today, frame is again too big. Sort it out

Early this year we had an Orangery built by Basfords and every Window and doors replaced. The UPVC is a German product of the highest quality. We were treated with the greatest respect by the nicest of people right from conception and design right through to the people working on the ground . The office staff are permanently on the ball and we were never left [ and your worst fear is that no one will turn up ] with any days without there workers on site. We would not hesitate in recommending this company

We were sent from an Origin showroom to the Basfords showroom and we had a great experience. The showroom staff were very friendly and made us a lovely coffee. We chose the Origin Bifold doors, paid the deposit and booked the surveyor. When he arrived for survey he was very knowledgeable and he talked us through our threshold options. The fitters arrived on site around 4 weeks later and they've done a fantastic installation. A real credit to him as they carried out the work just how he'd explained it would be done. We are over the moon with the hole process and fully recommend Basfords to all including family and friends. thanks again

We recently purchased a 5 metre set of Origin bi-fold doors and a bespoke window for our Gable end from Basfords in Nottingham. We love the products from Origin, however we have found the customer service from Basfords to be extremely disappointing. Initially, Basfords’ customer service was good. However, when we noticed a design fault with our gable window – and once Basfords had received 90% of the payment - they have become largely non-responsive to phone calls and emails. We have called and emailed in excess of 10 times; they promise an answer ‘shortly’ and then fail to respond. We contacted the managing director who originally took our order, politely explaining our dissatisfaction and have received no response from him. The surveyor confirmed the three pane gable window had been designed to ‘line up with the doors below’ which unfortunately resulted in a noticeable asymmetry and windows of different sizes. We informed Basfords that we would like a replacement and (given that we hadn’t seen or signed off on the final design) that we believe it appropriate that they cover the cost. We also repeatedly asked them to book fitters to come and finish the installation of the bi-fold doors – a relatively small and inexpensive job of fitting the trim and replacing D handles to match the main door handle. The doors remain unfinished. At the time of writing it has been 3 months since we initially placed our order. We contacted Origin directly and discovered that they claim to have provided Basfords with new drawings some time ago. Remarkably, Basfords did not pass this information onto us. Considering the fact that Origin manufacture the doors and that Basfords subcontract the fitting to an external company, then all Basfords offers is its customer service. We initially chose to use Basfords on the (seemingly misguided) understanding that if we paid them more than other suppliers that we would get a better service. We have been incredibly frustrated and disappointed. Unfortunately we are now having to pursue a claim under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act for breach of contract in an attempt to recover the cost of purchasing a replacement gable window from an alternative supplier, the costs of re-plastering after fitting and compensation for the inconvenience. Our advice would be to avoid Basfords if choosing Origin products, and consider one of the two other retailers in the Nottingham and Derby area.

I completely agree with this review. I have reported them to trading standards as I am getting nowhere with repairs
