Once the two year guarantee ran out on our corner fridge, we have had nothing but trouble. I worked out that since the fridge was 4 years old (its now nine years old), we have spent an average of £382 per year just to maintain the unit and keep it operational. I have tried to speak with the corner fridge company about it, all they say is that it's our fault for not replacing the filter every year. We have replaced the filter and kept it clean, but because it's not been every year, this is the price to pay (apparently). Sounds like a "get out of jail free card" to me.
Anyway, we are in the process of taking out the corner fridge to install a "normal" fidge, which we could have probably furnished the entire street with by now if we hadn't had to spend so much money on a completely unnecessarily extravagant kitchen appliance.
The moral of the story is, if you want a flashy corner firdge, go for it. When they work, they are fantastic. You must prepare yourself though for the two days a year you'll have off work, to wait for the repair men to come to the house, take away the refridgeration unit for repair (average of one week) and then return it and hand you a jaw-dropping repair bill. Most importantly, remember to be nice to the repair men, as they will be back the following year!!
