“I feel scammed”

I have always had a cleaner who is incredible. This review is noting to do with the actual cleaners. Why I would never use this company again and would recommend everyone steer clear from them is the ‘back office’ who have proven to me every single conversation that they are rude, incompetent and have poor systems that do not allow adequate notes and actions to be completed. This company has taken money from my account that they didn’t tell me I owed, didn’t notify me, and actually told me I had a completely paid account when I called and specifically asked about. I have spent more hours on the phone to them then I have had cleaning time. The 2.5 months of using their services has been the most stressful and disappointing I have ever experienced. I am now having to complain through an ombudsman as the company would not take any responsibility for their poor service and money taken from my account that I still do not know why and they refuse to refund. Please beware.

I have used Kingsmaid for over 3 years and have always been very satisfied with the whole service. The cleaners are great, very thorough and always pleasant. The office staff are good, always happy to help to rearrange cleans or pass on any extra instructions. I use their key holding service so I don't have to be in if its not convenient. It is great to come home to a clean home. Would recommend

“Unreliable, untrustworthy, disreputable.”

We used Kingsmaid at a previous address and was let down by them failing to turn up for a move out and move in clean that was booked weeks in advance. Apparently this was our fault as they had tried to call (I had no missed calls or voicemails). We decided to give them another go but the standard of the clean was poor. We left guidance asking them to focus on certain things but this was ignored so we cancelled. Apparently, also my fault. I should have called and described how I would like things cleaning to head office rather than leaving a note for the cleaner. Isn't getting a cleaner suppose to be a convenience rather than a burden? They then insisted that they still needed to charge 33% of the next week's clean as a cancellation fee. My fault again apparently. I should have read the 15 page terms and conditions, page 9 section F part d which states I must give X weeks notice. Although very unhappy I thought it easier to pay and get rid than argue; I received an invoice for the amount which - apparently as standard - includes details of their bailiffs on the bottom. This seems a very aggressive intimidating way of asking for payment. As a freelancer I certainly don't include threats when I invoice my customers. We went to collect our keys (declining their offer to just put them in the post un-tracked). We turned up and was told nobody was able to access the safe (only a manager could); our time had been wasted. I questioned how the cleaners would do their morning rounds if nobody was able to open the safe and was told that cleaners collect keys the day before. So......the cleaners are taking home with them the keys to a whole bunch of different houses; how is this safe and secure? We went a second time several days later and came away with a key. Alas, it is not the right key. Kingsmaid have given us the key to someone else's home and have still not returned ours. I called this morning and apparently everyone is in a meeting (again). After two wasted trips to their offices I refuse to go in again. I explained to whoever answered the phone that they need to bring my key to me (and collect the key they've given me for someone else's house). I've made it clear that if my key isn't returned today I will be using a 247 locksmith to change my locks and will invoice them accordingly. Anyone know any good bailiffs I can use and include at the bottom of my invoice? Are you with Kingsmaid? Do you know what they've done with your keys? Perhaps time to get rid.

“DO NOT USE”

To those considering Kingsmaid - I say stay away! Look elsewhere for an end of tennancy clean the service provided i poor value for money. I was provided with a poor clean and poor after service. I spoke with the operations manager who could not offer me a suitable remedy to address the issues which Kingsmaid, having had sight of photos, accepted the level of oven clean was not good enough. I was offered for the cleaner to return to the property to clean the oven, a key component of our request and the main reason for instructing a profession cleaner. The time window offered did not meet with my availability with the original clean taking place on a Monday and tennancy ending the same Thursday. I was unable to secure any refund despite having had to return back the property myself at great inconvenience and expense to remedy the issue I had. I requested a refund of £50 (less than 50%). It is not their policy to offer any refund even when they accept that they have done a sub standard job. BUYER BEWARE! Look elsewhere - and if for whatever reason you so not heed my advice - be very careful with the level of clean offered and booked as I am firmly of the opinion that I was thoroughly misled and now my pockets are lighter for it.

“Disgusting”

Absolute disgrace, burnt holes in carpet with Hoover, Locked my dog in the back garden in the rain, broke mirror. Paid for one of this and then tried to say we owed £200 when we had paid for every clean we had. Their correspondence is rubbish and they send different cleaners every week.

“Seriously Not Credible”

If you want to put faith in a business that takes the money then says three days later no can do Sir you left it to late, then this is the business for you! I made a telephone booking with them which they accepted five days before the clean, at the time they were the most expensive, so do some research they are overpriced and whilst I like expensive things I like trust and believe me you cant trust this company.... Everybody has different standards so you will always get good and bad reviews depending on your personal experience. I used them last year and looking back they did mess me about a little but this time they pulled out all the stops to let me down including calling me a liar and saying it was my fault because I paid them by BACS instead of a credit card, this is a complete & utter nonsense the monies was in their account within one hour of the booking being made, in the same way I did last year "telephone booking BACS payment" ABSOLUTELY no difference they even had an email confirming the payment but denied it even though we have a read receipt. Well today when your told calls are recorded for training purposes thank heavens because I will be demanding a copy of that recording they have denied and lied about. If you cant find someone else do it yourself seriously it less painful and at least you know what you are getting. They do for Customer Service what Lionel Blair does for rock climbing. AVOID don't be a victim,

I used Kingsmaid for a clean after some building work at my home. Very impressed with the whole service. Office staff very knowledgable and cleaners worked really hard. Rang several companies for quotes but but Kingsmaid seem the most knowledgable and didnt promise me the earth like some others did! They informed me of what time I needed and told me that after all builders cleans dust settles and recommended a small clean a few days later. They were right it did! They came back a couple of days after the first clean and got rid of the dust, everywhere looks great now. I am considering booking a regualr service and woul definately use them.

Kingsmaid keep my home in order! I would be lost without them. As a working Mum with 3 boisterous children, a dog, 2 cats and a gerbil (plus a messy husband!) my house can get pretty messy and dirty in an amazingly short space of time.Every week Kingsmaid come and restore order to the weeks mess. My kitchen is left gleaming, bathrooms sparkling and everywhere else beautifully clean and tidy. Then everyone comes home, gradually messes it up again and I count the days until its time for Kingsmaid come again! Thank you Kingsmaid x

“DONT USE!!!”

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! They DO NO'T do a complete job as requested and promised and they DO NOT provide any feedback or explanation as to why certain areas may not have been cleaned to a satisfactory standard. As a busy young man aware of my dislike to cleaning, I booked a 3 hour cleaning session with this company (which I believe is ample time to clean a 1 bedroom apartment which has a regular clean fortnightly so isn't particularly dirty) as a last THOROUGH clean as I was moving out of my apartment (guess they didn't quite understand thorough). They attended and advised they had completed this to the level of standard required- I had previously ensured they were aware of specific areas that may have needed more attention. I have since been charged by my estate agent for areas of the apartment being dirty e.g. the toilet being left with dirt marks-surely that is the basics of cleaning?! On receiving the pictures to highlight the dirty areas I called Kingsmaid Domestic "Cleaning" to which I got a very uninterested response and point blank refusal to refund even part of the charge. They weren't even willing to look at the pictures or discuss the matter further. Absolute artists that need to look up the definition of CLEANING! I'm a big fan of giving people a chance to rectify matters however as they are the least bit interested I am having to regrettably write a VERY UNSATISFACTORY review on here and WILL be creating a website to convey this, making sure other innocent people don't fall guilty of being charged for such poor service...as a web designer I WILL be making sure this comes up on Google for anyone searching for Kingsmaid "Cleaners" or cleaners in the area they cover.

Mr Gill you were advised at the time of booking that at least 6 hours was needed to complete all the areas you had requested, this was followed up in writing. You informed us that you only wanted to book 3 hours. It was made very clear to you verbally and in writing that you were booking a block of time and that the cleaners would work hard within that time but if insufficient time was booked then not all areas would be completed. When the staff arrived at your property we contacted you again to explain that due to the condition the property was in not the clean could not be fully completed in the time booked. You still said you only wanted 3 hours. We also advised, as you later acknowledged that your oven was in such a bad state that you needed our separate oven cleaning service. The other area you complained about was your toilet, which as we have already explained to you is old and pitted and could not be cleaned any further, you really need to replace it! You did not inform us (despite us asking you about these areas needing excessive attention, the only area you stated needed special attention was the floors (agreed, they did!) which you have stated were fine after the clean. The staff worked very hard for the time they were there, are you really suggesting they should have worked beyond the time you booked and paid for because you refused to book enough time?

“Great Home Cleaning”

We have been using Kingsmaid in Cheshire for 7 years and have had a fantastic reliable service. My Husband and I would like to add our thanks to the cleaners. On the occasions that they have been on holiday the back up service and office support has been spot on. I have had 1 bad, or probably iffy clean, in the seven years I have been with them and that was sorted out very quickly with no fuss. Always pleasant but professional. My neighbour, now takes them as well. First class.
