After renewal I did not receive any documentation for the second year running when I have rung to cancel after 5 days as I was not happy thay if they can not complete simple delivery of documentation i was not confident what they will be like as a company when it came to a real issue, I received bad attitude incorrect information and back to back lies. Got charged £100 administration fees for the displeasure of 5 days insurance, compaints team are just there to argue with you not to solve the issue. Would deffeintly recommend avoiding this company as there are much more competent campervan insurers

“modified car insurance but cannot insure my modified...”

This company is a bit of a Joke, I tried insuring my track car last year but the quote was high so ended up with Safely Insured broker and this year i thought give them a try again and they said the price i was trying to insure it at was to high even though they had got a full list of the modifications yet. What do you think im going to do insure a full spec FIA level race car at a road going car price. Jokers

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!”

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY  The initial service and setting up the policy was okay. The problems came when I sold the vehicle and went on to cancel the policy after having it for just over a month. When I asked how much I would be refunded, they went on to take 2 lots of administration fees totalling £90, then a further £75 for commission and then a further £88 for the use of the policy. This has meant the 33 day policy has cost a staggering £253 of a total £695 insurance policy. DO NOT USE!!!

“Mixed customer service”

When speaking to some of the employees they're very helpful and understanding. Though on a few occasions I have experienced terrible encounters with staff who are extremely defense to the point were I no longer wanted to talk to the employee and considered ending my insurance with them before the year end. It's unlikely I will renew with them after the first year.

“poor attitude! ”

I have insured with this company for the last four years and never again. I called them to check the costs as it has increased despite my car being a year older (me being a year older!) and no claims, and was spoken to by a very rude man who was abrupt and unpleasant. Clearly the increased costs are buying customer service training! I have also been charged for what they class as modifications, when mainstream companies have told me are actually factory fitted extras (I tried a few to test the market). Poor - steer clear - always pleasant in the past but this has changed. Avoid. Dread to think how they would handle a claim!

Simple, Brentacre are familiar with and speak with confidence and knowledge about my modified van needs. They were also thorough and prompt with any query. Maybe not the cheapest quote, but I am very happy to deal with a company that is familiar with and understand my Needs. There is nothing that I feel lets Brentacre down. Top Marks!

“Stay clear from this company ”

Just phoned to get an insurance quote from Brentacre, this company was extremely unhelpful and have no regard when it comes to providing insurance as to a free of charge USA cop for the day passenger experience for ailing children. We asked to speak to a manager, Brentacre’s representative said ‘their manager was too busy’. An insurance company that don’s care about seriously and terminally ill children should not be in business; pls help us start a boycott Brentacre twitter and social media campaign.

“Came to the rescue”

Had a problem finding any insurer to use my no claims discount for insuring 2 cars at the same time, and had been quoted crazy premiums. Brentacre already insure my van so asked them for advice. They offered cover at a much lower price, but also gave me advice on how to get lower quotes from other insurers. Total stars.

“Always been good”

First came across Brentacre back in 1998ish when I got a RS Sierra Sapphire 4x4 Cosworth and they insured that until 2014 when I sold it. During that time it was well modified up to 336 bhp, suspension, brakes and they covered everything on a low mileage policy. During that time I also had RS Focus Mk 1, RS Focus Mk 2 and even Defenders, Discoverys, Range Rover, Transporter Sportline and BMWs. Never been anywhere else and now all family use them. Sons with well modified Bora, Fabia and Audi S1; all kept legal by everything been declared for peace of mind. Over the years I dealt with all the team but the person I dealt with and then another guy have always been there if I needed a bit of help and advice; usually "don't do it like that mate, do it like this" Always good advice. They've been around for me as long as the kids so they are a part of the family.

It was a breath of fresh air to speak to an insurance company that new what they were talking about ,and cared about there customers being new to the modified vw van scene it was hard to get insurance with a normal company Brent acre where fantastic and gave us a good quote, so glad I found them .

“After care service”

Ah, yes, competitive rates and probably possible to insure a V8 wheelbarrow. But, once they have you money, They are not interested in any problems you may have with administration. They will cancel your policy on the spot, with no recompense. Aftercare service is non existant. Understanding? never heard of the word. If I could find another company, I would change tomorrow.

I couldn't disagree more about our aftercare. A client had an issue with the breakdown recovery while in the middle of nowhere and we had several people staying many hours chasing the recovery driver and shouting down phones to get him home. We have a dedicated legal team who help with claims, and a friendly staff with no phone queuing system or quotas ready to help whenever needed with documentation, modifications, advice etc.

But please do drop me a line and I can have a look into your case specifically to see if any why any failures crept in.

“Should have come to Brentacre first for classic car...”

I recently brought a 1960's American muscle car and had nothing but trouble trying to get quotes or explain the particular details of the car with 'main stream' insurance companies. Luckily I came across Brentacre and was pleasantly surprised as to how much they knew about the car and how quickly they could give a quote. The cost itself was over £200 cheaper then I had struggled to find anywhere else so it was a no brainier for me. Once I had sent all the documentation through I have a quick response and everything was in place, because of the value of the car I had to do a valuation which I have no experience in, I asked the team at Brentacre gave me a call and talked me through the process so that it was no hassle at all. I am always suspicious about things that seem to good to be true but this experience really was, that's why I am taking the time to ensure the guys get a great review which I hope will help others to make the right choice first time.

They're very easy to talk to and actually know what I'm talking about when I get all picky and particular about my car and what's on/in it. No admin fees is a cheeky bonus too. First time having a VW T5 Camper and so so impressed with the quality of service. I kept seeing people on Facebook T5 Groups raving on about them...sounded to good to be true???....Even better still it is true! A real personal old school touch and great quote too. No waiting for ages in a queue, more than happy to phone you back and extremely understanding. I've had speciality vehicle insurance previously with a different insurer and I've never experienced anything so good. Please don't change a thing and you'll keep plenty if clients and get plenty more! Fantastic everyone, well done!
