“beware the rip off”

★☆☆☆☆

written by cheagavara on 08/02/2017

daughter took her car into hedge end for front brake pads and was told they didn't need replacing...sounds good. she was told they just needed a clean, so she said ok. however she ended up with a bill £4 short of the cost of replacing them....the guaranteed cost of replacement £115....her bill on the day £111, how can they justify that?

“Snows Group Poole”

written by fpCalhoun398 on 16/04/2015

Poor contact from service department after car went in for repair under warranty. Different members of staff tell you there own thing and the manger couldn't care less! Communication is a real let down and you call for an update about your car and they can't even find it on the system. The repair was carried out a few weeks later and no paperwork received about what had been done the vehicle. Would never take my car back to this place again as the problem hasn't been repaired property as it still persists! I strongly recommend not to buy a car at snows group and not to use them for you servicing etc. An overall bad experience that certainly don't live up to their radio advert.

“Snows group in Hedge End Feb 2014”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Ronnie4me on 08/02/2014

I bought a Honda Civic from Snows group Hedge End having seen it advertised. I viewed the car and noticed a few scratches in the paintwork which I noted. I was then asked if I would like to take the car out for a test run which I did, it's was yet another rainy day so I put the wipers on and noticed it was blearing my vision when driving. When we got back into the office I pointed the scratches out as well as mentioning about the wipers, so made an offer lower than the price quoted.. The sales person then said he would have to speak with his manager.. He then came back and said they would sort out the scratches but wasn't prepared to replace the wiper. In the meantime the manager went out and started wiping the window and trying to clean the wiper. He stated he didn't have any money in the budget to replace the wiper even though the sales person said it would cost around £20. The sales assistant then suggested when I buy the car on my way home I could stop of at Halfords and buy a wiper which I thought was really unprofessional. I wasn't really pleased but I agreed as long as the scratches was done as I know repairing paint work can be expensive i would sort out the wipers.. When I spoke to the sales person on the day of collection I asked if the scratches had been done he insured me everything was done. When I collected the car and drove it home because it had been raining when the rain stopped and I was able to really checked the car I noticed 3 chips on the bonnet which hadn't been there when we thoroughly looked over the car on the day of viewing and also the scratches which I was assured would be done hadn't been done. I also noticed, I can only describe as grease marks around the car as if they tried to quickly polish the car before I arrived. When I phoned to complain the sales person confirmed my suspicion as saying the only reason this may have happened with the scratches still there was the repairs hadn't dried and with the rain it may have watched the paint work away.. I was angry and stated surely if you know this you would do any alteration in advance and allow the paintwork to dry and not rush it.. Hence further chips on the bonnet in there haste and why I could still see some of the polish. I asked to speak with sales manager as this is not acceptably it's not all about taking your money and delivering the goods in worse condition than you first saw it.. I felt that all they wanted was to make a sale and get rid of me as quickly as possible. I definitely wouldn't recommend them. I appreciate they have a business to run but stick to what you promise that way both yourself and the buyer are happy. I am still awaiting a phone call back from the manager.. Feb 2014.

“Refusal to pay for damage THEY did to car! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 22/04/2013

I bought a used car from Too Good 2 Auction - part of the snows group. When I put down a deposit we'd discussed the 2 dents present on the car and I used this as a bargaining point. I then returned 4 days later, allowing them time to MOT and tax the car, made the final payment and drove the car away. It was only when I got home that I noticed 2 NEW dents on the passenger door. They were definitely not there when I put down the deposit as I have an eagle eye for these things! I have rung and discussed this issue with numerous 'salesman' and the manager. Each time being told it had dents when you bought it! Despite my clear and accurate descriptions of the problem they appeared not to understand that I was talking about new dents. The matter remains unresolved but they've sent me a letter saying they'd be happy to let their bodyworks people quote me for repairs!!!! Don't buy from them! I am so upset and shocked that a large dealership can practise in such an unethical and underhand manner.

“Kia Servicing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 09/12/2011

This is a relatively new Kia service agent to Basingstoke, they have taken over from the previous efficient service agent. What a change, we took our 6 year old Kia in for a 60,000 mile service, guess what? they hadn't got the parts even though the service was pre-booked. We only found this out when we collected the car after being told the service was complete. Most of the critical items were not done, including a cracked timing belt. we were charged £162 for what was in effect an oil change. Kia UK have been next to useless, simply referring us back to the agent, the bottom line seems to be a great inconsistency in Kia agents, really good or useless for which Kia seems to have no control!
