“3 attempts and 2 weeks to change a tyre”

It took the service centre 3 attempts to balance a tyre, and what amazes me is that they were happy to return the car with an unbalanced wheel.

The sorry tale starts with an MOT fail for an under tread tyre, they replaced it with a Goodride tyre and charged me £80 for the pleasure (quick Google suggests it's £40 worth of tyre and a lot of problems balancing them). Vehicle returned to me at 17:00 on Friday afternoon before a bank holiday Monday, I am told by the delivery person that it might feel strange due to the work we've done.

I drive home and have a severe judder at anything over 40mph. I swap the new tyre for the spare and hey presto the problem goes away. I call service4service on Tuesday, they are very apologetic and will get the service centre to fix it. Two more phone calls and several emails the service centre take the car again to fix it on the Friday over a week later, returning it at 15:30 the delivery driver said "I balanced it myself but I think there is a problem with the prop shaft". I drive home again the judder!

I call service4service on Saturday, service centre not open but they will be contacted on Monday and service4service will call me.

Monday PM I call service4service - oh haven't the service centre called you? speak with MD of service4service and much bull later the upshot is the service centre will pick up the wheel Tuesday morning. On Tuesday the service centre pick up the wheel at 15:30 and I ask what time they will deliver it back - "we'll call you" - no call, I go home at 18:15 with no spare.

Wednesday AM I call service4service "where's my wheel" - we'll chase them and get back to you. Wednesday PM I call service4service "Oh have'nt they called you? I asked them to - hold the line I'll give them a call - they'll be there in 10 minutes". 40 minutes later the delivery man turns up with wheel and a different new tyre on it.

I put the wheel on the car - on the drive home - BLISS

So It only took 3 attempts and 2 weeks to change a tyre

The most annoying thing is that the delivery drivers were quite happy to return a vehicle in an unfit state to drive
