I had an existing policy running out next month and that car had been written off so I called to try to insure a new car either by transfer or new policy. It took nearly 2hrs and transfer to 10 different people after the first being the rudest telling me "how do you expect me to find you quote then without a ref numbe, how" to finally find I had to cancel old policy and lose a year's ncb just to start a new one as couldn't swap over. Was rushed to make decision then and there but when now reading t&cs i have a 14 day cooling off period. I didn't mind paying the deposit but the monthly is way to high even when i was on the phone to advisor i told him im getting cheaper quotes. I asked him Give me some time to think about it as the original quote i was given couldn't be accepted at the price id seen on website. I spent in excess of 1 hour with an adviser after the computer wouldn't complete the quote I was doing online, we went through every single detail, often twice as we did two calls. When she finally got a sign off from underwriters, I paid for the subscription, assuming this to be be the end. A) No documents followed B) No explanation was given for why underwriters had to be involved, or why it took so long. I know how insurance works by the way, I qualified in it some years back. Car Insurance I selected Right Choice via MoneySuperMarket.com. I have not received the Welcome pack.I got a BOT email with some BOT info from Sabre. I don't understand it. I tried queuing at the call centre on 29th & 30th December 2020 without success. Got sent my renewal invite, tried to call for 4DAYS without answer! Finally complained to the switchboard lady who then finally had the nous to raise the complaint for me meaning I got a call back from a lady who was ultimately helpful. I wouldn't mind, but I only stayed with them for ease. They're not even cheaper or offering better service. I brought the insurance online but didn’t hear back regarding policy and as I needed certificate for tomorrow, I rang. However I ended up being passed from one department to the next and holding for a long time. I took out a policy using this broker on behalf of my 85 year old father. I have had to chase the brokers 3 times since they took his payment as we had not received any policy documents or information regarding the policy. I had the policy 5 minutes, realised my start date was wrong and social us needed to add commuting too. I needed it to start 29.11.19 but had the 2.12.19. I phoned up and explained this. My payments went up from £223.49 deposit (paid before I realised the human error) to £280.49 and monthly payments from £107.27 to £134.86. Firstly took 45 minutes to get through after getting to point of getting price 25 minutes I got cut off. No call back to finish renewal. I tried calling again another 35 minutes still no one available. With someone telling me my custom is valuable sounds condescending when I have to wait 45 minutes to speak to someone. When I tried to renew my policy I was kept on hold and passed around different departments for 95 minutes. I was so annoyed and frankly on the verge of hanging up and changing companies. I eventually got through toa man who then was so nice patient and helpful: the only reason I stayed with your company was his attitude and friendliness. I have entered all info on their web site and pay online. But then, on the phone they increased the quote around %20, and charge me extra £250. other thing is they are very slow and it takes literally 3 hours to have your policy sent online. I have been insuring cars for many years and, although I appreciate we live in an age of false insurance claims and rising premium prices, I was extremely annoyed at having to jump through several hoops, including sending photos of everything, to insure a 25 year old car for a 55 year old man with a long driving history.
