Bought car insurance for my daughter who lives away - gave information as accurately as I could but knew that she would be contacted to clarify the details - I slightly under estimated the NCD and wasn't aware that she had changed jobs from waitress to cleaner (she's only 19 and in part time education) since I last spoke with her. Upon changing the details, they added about 15% to the quote plus an admin fee (knowing full well that I couldn't be certain that the information I was giving was guaranteed - even though it was based on the last policy I arranged through Confused.com and was the basis for the quote so it can't have been that far out!) and then when I said that i wanted to cancel they are effectively charging me £40+ a day for cancellation charges. When I complained all they said was that it's in the T's & Conditions - as if I was ever going to read them. Naturally nobody mentioned the risk of exorbitant cancellation charges when they were taking my details. It's quite clear that they don't give a damn about their customers or reputation!
