My car was hit by a neighbours car whilst parked on my driveway. He was insured by Hastings Direct. He admitted full liability and advised them so. Firstly they wouldn't deal with my insurance company, they denied knowing about the accident even though their client had shown me a letter from them acknowledging that the accident was entirely his fault. I had to get a lawyer to try to get them to settle up, they dragged this out for around two and a half years before finally Issuing a settlement payment which was for a fraction of what my car was worth prior to the accident. My lawyer advised me that this would probably be the best we could get from them, stating that they were the worst company he had ever had to deal with.
