Easy to do business with - I used GoCompare and was referred to Geoffrey Insurance. I got the cover with extras that I was looking for, at a good price. Due to Royal Mail’s postcode lookup system not reflecting my address, I had to call after choosing a property in my building, which I knew needed amending. She helped me by changing the details manually, then went through the extras I wanted for cover. Payment and process was so easy. Thanks!! Whole experience was straightforward from start to finish - setting up the online access to my documents was really simple, and she was lovely to speak to - great service.

I was with Direct Line (had been for years) but they wanted a WHOPPING £80+ to reinsure my 2006 Ford Fusion 1.6 automatic. I've had "NO ACCIDENTS" I've had "NO CLAIMS" but obviously due to "COVID" the insurance companies losses must be MET by "JOE PUBLIC". This is the reason I chose Geoffrey Insurance an honest company NOT intent on "Ripping Off" customers but there to HELP customers......Thank you Geoffrey Insurance

“Extremely annoyed with customer service”

After taking out a new policy I needed to phone this provider to explain that I no longer had a claim against my previous insurance policy as a claim had been withdrawn. This was all done BEFORE the policy had even started. I explained the details and expected that due to there now not being any claims against me that my insurance premiums would be reduced. They recalculated my premiums and stated that my premiums would be INCREASED by approx £40 PER MONTH. I was absolutely furious as my premium should have been reduced. I asked to cancel the policy before it started (as I was in the cooling off period) - due to the fact that they wanted to increase my premium for some unfathomable reason. They refused to refund my full first months payment which I had paid in advance stating that this was an 'admin fee' - this cost me almost £30 which I really needed to take out a new insurance policy. They also took several weeks to refund any of my initial payment and were just incredibly unhelpful. The customer service advisor also suggested leaving the claim on my policy to avoid the price going up which in my opinion is wrong and completely against the terms of a car insurance policy. I am so angry that in these circumstances they could not have offered my all of my initial payment back as a gesture of good will. I would not recommend this insurance company and was extremely disappointed with their customer service team who did not seem to understand my frustration. Completely unfathomable! I am now out of pocket...do not recommend!

Just come across this insurance company this year just started cover with this company it’s been fantastic. The quote was brilliant much lower than other places then to set up the insurance was a piece of cake. It was a simple click through then two minutes except from the details Payne and then submitting to finalise the quote. It was so easy one of the easiest insurances I’ve ever set up absolutely over the moon with these people. Just hope they can give me a fantastic quote next year so I can stay with him because they’re just so straightforward.

“Use your online quote the company doesn't honor phonecalls”

I had a quote for 320 to renew for 12 months I had made a mistake and put 8 years no claims but I actually had 9. When calling up I didn't think this would make much of a difference which it didn't quote was reduced £20 roughly by the call operator, which hey nice bonus. Anyways I was told to call back in a few weeks If I was happy to proceed, 9 days later I call back quote the reference I had, unfortunately my 9 years still wasn't on so I mentioned it to the call operator, she requoted and it spat out a quote for roughly 400 plus ! big increase I said I have the quote at a lower price on my emails... doesn't matter this is the new quote, YOU almost lost a customer luckily no other firm got close to your quote on my emails and I managed to get my insurance at the 8 years no claims quoted amount, via my emails/ your website. !

The company will contact you once the policy is due for renewal. I have been with them for 3 years now and they send me a letter advising me of the renewal date, the cost and no claims bonus. I pay by standing order and the letter states (if memory serves) that if I am happy with the cost of renewal I should do nothing and the payments will come out of my account as normal. If not then I can cancel by phone or letter.

I have not had required car insurance for the past 2 years as I have been out of the UK supporting coalition forces but am now due to return. I have a copy of my previous NCD dated 10 Aug 2012. Please can anyone let me know if this is okay so I can go ahead and apply for insurance through this company?

I am not an insurer but my limited knowledge says you will have lost the NCD. I did Google it and there were some rather daft suggestions eg no claims then the NCD is safe. Cannot see that being relevant since if one is not driving then they would not be incurring a risk? My personal feeling is to contact Chaucer who really do have some great people working for them - only they can offer you a truthful answer. Could well be that as there is a "forces" reason there could well be exceptions BUT DO NOT QUOTE ME. Good luck.

In the past they have given me credit for NCD but that was a NCD greater than just 2 years. I think you'd be lucky to get anyone to honour it, might just have to accept it's gone. The people at Chaucerdirect are very helpful and they're prices are very good, phone them and talk, you may be pleasantly surprised!

I don't actually know if you get charged, but I would stay with Chaucer direct as I've had problems over the past and they are quick to respond and get the problem sorted out and they are I think one of the cheapest insurer's out there that actually care. hope this has help you but I cant give you information that I'm not sure off

I have not tried to do that. I would imagine that insurance can be cancelled during the policy with a small admin cost (or at least that is my expectation). I would phone Chaucerdirect and ask them. My experience of talking with these guys has always been positive and they are very approachable.

To be truthful I cancelled nearly a year ago and cannot remember if there was a charge. If there was it must have been a small one otherwise I would have remembered. They were very good and cancelled my policy with no fuss. The only reason I cancelled was because I wanted my son on my insurance but he was too young for them to insure.
