My car insurance notification arrived from LV who I have used for a while,the renewal price was a large increase on last year's and so I decided to go onto Go Compare and check out my options (also got a quote from Direct - not on comparison sites) Budget's quote was the second least expensive but had more cover options than the least expensive. I added a couple of options and the final price was still £120 less than LV. The only main difference is that the personal accident cover is less.
The irony is that the underwriter is LV! Don't you just love car insurance!!
