We booked a car, via Indigo, for a 2 week period over Christmas and New Year 2010-2011 and could not have been more pleased with the service. We had booked a small car which was waiting for us at Manchester Airport, despite us being nearly 3 hours late.
The lady who delivered the car could not have been more helpfull, although she had to travel home to Liverpool she took the time to explain everything to us about the car, a Honda Jaz. She also pointed out that the car should be returned with the same amount, approx half a tank, of petrol as it was delivered with.
Prior to our return, from Birmingham, we contacted the lady who had delivered the car and arranged a suitable drop offtime. Needless to say she was waiting for us and dropped us of at the correct terminal Manchester Airport.
Due the service we had received we again booked a car via Indigo for a period in May 2011, what difference in service we had.
We arrived at Birmingham Airport at 8 o'clock in the evening, having already been informed that the car, again we had booked a small car, would be available from Avis.
The Avis rep gave us a rudeamentory run down of the paperwork,told us that the car was in the compound and that the walk, to the compound, was about 2 minutes. He gave us the keys to the car, never mentioning the make of the car, and as we walked away closed the office.
The walk was from the arrivals terminal to the long stay car park and took about 10 minutes, needless to say the Avis satellite office on the car park was closed and we had to wander around looking for the car.
Eventually we found the car, a Fiat 500 the smallest of small cars!!. We had a great struggle to get our 2 suitcases in the car and this took us about 30 minutes to work out how to get them in.
When we arrived at the Avis office in the airport we had agreed that we would take the car back with a full tank of petrol. On returning the car to Birmingham Airport we were, originally, charged for a tank of petrol and explained that we had agreed to return it with a full tank, the agent went to the car to ensure that we had filled the car and asked where we had filled the car. On explaining that we ahd filled the tank at Junction 9 on the M6 the agent charged us £1.50 for petrol used.
We had no problem in e-mailing Indigo with a good report on the car hired from Manchester Airport and they equally had no problem in thanking us for our comments, likewise we e-mailed with our experience from the Birmingham Airport hire and to date, approx 12 months later, have had no reply.
Woud we recommend hiring a car from Indigo again, yes if from Manchester Airport no if from Birmingham.
