November 2015. Booked a vw polo with Greenmotion , through Cartrawler. Received a Citroen C1.
Asked for £1000 deposit in case of accident. We refused and paid £100 extra insurance for a £250 deposit.
The car was reasonable and fit for purpose but the return process was rushed.
The car was examined by the member of staff, whilst we were instructed to sit in the taxi for the airport. The car was given the all clear. We signed the forms to this effect.
Two days later they claimed that the car was damaged - a windscreen so they say send apparently the damage merited a new windscreen at a cost of £647. They had already taken this money from the credit card.
The East Midlands office have not provided any evidence of the damage and refused to respond to any emails.
We have complained to Greenmotion customer services, giving them all details and they have not responded either!
Our credit card company is now pursuing this on our behalf and we have been advised to contact the Police and Trading standards.
